Description
Last weekend, Asura and I tried to come up with the worst ideas we could for a fake movie sequel to the recently released Watchmen. This comic came about as our idea for a fake trailer. Yes, this is intentionally bad, I am not in the business of writing a horrible Watchmen fanfic. I just hope Alan Moore never sees this.Related content

The Saturday Morning Watchmen short? Yeah, it's very funny, and kind of what inspired this comic.

This is pretty funny. Too bad Will Smith isn't in his hayday still, otherwise you could through him in there somewhere.

Alan Moore's beard alone would probably tear the universe in half.

You forgot to add in some whole Iraq war BS to take the focus off of SuperRorschach and Doctor Manhattanman, like Transformers!
(Otherwise, this is awesome. XD I really needed the laughs, thanks!)

Yeah, I only had nine panels, otherwise I would have done something like that. Glad you liked the comic

Thanks, I'll fix that when I get home. God, I need to do some better proof reading, I've been messing up a lot lately.

Good god this is awsome ^^
I'm a big fan of the movie and this would indeed make me shoot random people on the street ^^
But why Directed bye Bay, got to say I really liked his take on transformers ^^

Thanks, glad you liked this one.
As for why Bay, because Uwe Boll would have been too obvious and played out of a joke. Actually, I don't mind Bay or Transformers but I think him directing a Watchmen movie would have resulted in less story and more explosions. Which is why I thought he would be a funny director for the sequel. I guess I could have also gone with McG.

I haven't seen this movie, nor do I plan on it.
What happens?

Sorry, I should have put a disclaimer that it wouldn't make any sense to people who haven't seen the movie or read the comic. It's hard to explain the whole plot. Dark story about an alternate 1980s on the verge of nuclear war with superheros that the general population dislikes. It's pretty self contained and doesn't really need a sequel, which is why this comic.

Ah.
My friend told me that it was about a bunch of guys in costumes and a naked blue guy who go around killing people.

Yeah, that naked blue guy is the only superhero that actually has any powers. He started out as a normal dude who gained incredible powers, but has gradually lost his humanity as a result (hence why he doesn't feel the need to wear clothes in public).
Your friend is right that the movie is very violent, but there weren't too many action scenes. They were scattered throughout the movie.

Oh.
What about when that guy gets a cleaver stuck in him? And when Dr. Meatdanglin' explodes those guys from the inside out?

Cokomon In reply to S0crat3s [2009-03-19 18:28:00 +0000 UTC]
Ok, yeah. Those parts were pretty graphically violent, waaaay more so than in the book. For instance, the cleaver to the head was not in the book, the guy just got lit on fire. I think the upped violence quotient can be attributed to directer Zack '300' Snyder, who seems to like all of his action to be incredibly gory.

At first I wanted to see it with a friend, thinking it was just a superhero movie like Iron Man (Nintendo product placement ftw) or The Dark Knight, but he said that it wasn't anything like that.
So I sat home and played Brawl instead.

Cokomon In reply to S0crat3s [2009-03-19 19:05:06 +0000 UTC]
That was probably a wise choice. I enjoyed the movie (also being a fan of the original book), but I could see how other people would hate it, especially going in expecting another Iron Man or Dark Knight. They are very different movies, even though they are all about superheroes.

My roommate enjoyed it a lot, but he has yet to read the book. But then again, he doesn't read, so I don't expect him to do it.
How do the book and the movie differ?

You should stop playing Brawl and just see the movie.

Cokomon In reply to S0crat3s [2009-03-20 01:10:58 +0000 UTC]
Well first of all, the movie has a different ending than the book. Also, a lot of side stuff was cut out of the movie, like a comic that exists within the comic. Overall, though, the movie is pretty faithful to the book. Just a bit more violent.
