Thank you so much, means allot . first i used willow Charcoal and smudge it with my finger, then i used dark derwent Charcoal and used a tortillion to blend. that's it

oh thanks ive got both of those and never use them ill try it ,ive just spent hours tring to get black black on what ive been doin ill try this next time

ya they're simple objects.i tried doing black background several times before it didn't work but im happy with this one.glad i helped hope it works out.

I see. Yeah in my drawings i usually just leave it black since i never know what to do Sometimes i just do a quick scribble then smudge it ( like in my one direction portraits recently, that i am drawing for a friend)

ya the scribble and smudge thing is good too but not always try to do a black background then and now, by practicing it'll be easy..aww how sweet i love drawing for my friends

Haha ok I'll try to do that on the portrait i am finishing soon. ( Zayn Malik from One Direction) yeah it's fun when you have nothing else to draw and they give you some ideas. It's even better when they like it
