Sorry 'bout the uncreative title...
IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!
This is my entry to ~Laminated-TeabaG 's Ying and Yang Contest.
UPDATE: It got third place!
Harvey Dent is probably one of my favorite characters from the Dark Knight, and I just find his personality so fascinating. It was just the first thing I thought of when I saw the contest theme.
The drawing represents not only the duality of Harvey Dent, but of the contrast between good and evil, light and dark, order and chaos.
I decided not to post any detail shots, but if you click download, you can see it really big, and you can gaze that all its detailed glory (seriously, who am I kidding?
)This took countless hours, and sorry the left-side background's kinda sloppy...well, really sloppy.
I just really wanted to get this done.So, enjoy! And comments and tips are always appreciated.
Time: FOREVER.
Materials: 18"x24" drawing paper, pencils from HB-9B, ebony black pencil, 0.5 mechanical pencil, cotton rounds, eraser pencil and a regular eraser, various references (do you know how hard it is to find a good two-face picture?!?!?! or one of Rachel?

This is so cool! I love the detail you went into! And the background on both side is really neat- I love how you incorporated Gotham city into one side and all the people on the other.

its not quite as over-crowded as i thought it would be, and, on the whole, the layout worked pretty well.

The Joker was definitely brilliant in the Dark Knight, but I really think that Two Face deserves more attention than he gets.

I thought everything about TDK was just about perfect. And yes, I agree. I'm glad you took that unique approach by centering Two-Face. He was quite central, but seems to get pushed aside a bit.

And yes it is. Large-scale drawings need large paper. And large scale paper takes forever to draw on. Coloring that black side...

Thank you! I'm sure you could if you practiced. After all, I just picked it up at the beginning of this year.
It should be, but I ended up just using a picture of the Hong Kong skyline to loosely base my Gotham off of.

I'm not so sure. I can't rule straight lines or do symmetry. I don't know why. Everything comes out... asymmetrical and bent. lol.
Well it looks good, I think the concept of light vs. dark works well too.
