Description Its Breast Cancer Awareness Month I am told via at Group.

I do not know why but reading their journal stirred me; I normally don’t do causes but the journal moved me; especially the simple request of an image that summed up the cause.

The journal thus recommended “It's that season again to "bust" out the images of those in support of the 'Mommy Guns'. Images should be tasteful, respectful and most off all not just to show the breasts for showing a breast. Keep it clean. Also Keep in mind an images of men and women in pink is also considered in support.”

Guess it was the challenging motivator in me that decided to tackle the subject.

Initially I thought of something along those lines but then I remembered friends who had lost someone through this awful infliction or had suffered from it. So rather than do an image that would mostly miss the point I went for something that summed up the powers of loss and love, that there is despair but from it there is triumph and even hope.

This is it.

I do have an idea why I went for this concept, but I rather you the viewer come up with your own conclusions.

Let me know what you think.

Take care.

Additional: a great friend, told me of a song that fitted this - its called "Remember Me" by Thomas Bergersen - look for it on Youtube; had me in tears and that's always a great thing

Simply amazing. I never thought you'd do something like this, but what a fantastic challenge it turned out to be! You took this whole concept and transformed it into
something truly touching, and very personal at the same time. I feel the feeling you wanted to convey- the pain of loss and the warmth from hope- is very clear, and
reflects in not only the stunning light show beyond the window, but also in the couple's gesture and presence together.

Loss is a trial in life that will be experienced by everybody at some point, be it losing somebody dear, something, or even, at the end, your own grip upon the physical
world; what lies beyond, I am uncertain, but the ability to imagine whatever is out there can make the trial a little easier. Loss will change your life and change your
mind, but at the same time, in the sorrow and the regret, it is the most beautiful process known to man; the taking of the life and the returning to the place where it
came. Or so I believe...

Perhaps others, as they look upon this piece, will feel the same way. There is a definite beauty, not just in the visible art itself, but in the power of the message that
lies behind it; the message that makes art incredible, and ties us together. I am touched and moved by this picture emotionally; this is one of the best pieces I have
seen you perform.

Wow...such stirring words.

I will admit, I am getting a tad tired of doing Sci-fi - never thought I'd admit that but I am; I don't mind doing it but sometimes I feel "is this all I can do?"

I think that may have been the motive here; like I said, I don't do causes but the parameters set by the site were too powerful to ignore.

Its easy if not "typical" to do a lass in pink, probably topless; that is fine. However, cancer is a thing that wrecks lives, and I wanted to show that; I also wanted it to be a universal appeal - some people may think a topless lady in pink trivialises the message; me I wanted the message to be said and more.

The couple I did because I wanted so many themes in this - they are small, it can happen to any gender, and somehow through the trauma there is hope, there is a chance, life goes on even with one suffering it or recovered, or know those who have it and either made it or not.

Your words on loss are damn stirring and very thought provoking; I view loss as terrible but its life, its a test and its one of them things that makes us "get busy living or get busy dying" Red once said....

I am glad it moved you - the aim achieved; its to make us all think, and think hard about loss and hope; I do not know if others will see this as that but if few do and take it on, then its been worth it. The best art conveys a message, an emotion, a thought that really touches us for the better and I am pleased it has that for you sir

Thank you very much that you think this is one of my finest too - that means more than you think sir

Hey- I get that completely- it isn't the only thing you do, but it's a preference you stick with; and heck, you have a lot of fun doing it!
Perhaps, however, it's time to go outside your comfort zone; I have a lot of faith in you, sir, that you can accomplish whatever you put your
mind to. The emotion in this image proves that to me.

I agree completely. To me, art for a cause or direct purpose doesn't have to be- and usually puts an idea forward better if it isn't- blatantly
about the cause directly. Implication is a powerful tool one can use to draw the viewer right into your work and allow them to seek the meaning
and interpret it in the manner they feel most comfortable, and I feel that you've got that idea down perfectly. I can interpret a lot from the
image itself, and get lost in the intricacies. Trivialisation is just what we want to avoid.

The diminutive size of the couple and the placement of them in front of that giant abyssal space is very telling, and as you say, it really can
happen to anybody, anywhere, and anyhow. They're small in front of life and the vast possibility for the good and bad that they are faced with
day by day to come at any point in time, and realize it, too- all and all it's just bricks in the wall- but it can be very striking, as you put
forward here.

The worst of it is that nobody can escape it; either it happens to you or you are lost before it has a chance to. Every so often I walk through
the cemetery in our community, and the saddest thing is the very small graves you see from infants and young children; that's the hardest thing
of all. It's all quite thought-provoking.

As I've said before, it's all about interpretation; it depends heavily on what kind of thoughts jump into the mind at the first glance and
detailed examination, and I feel badly for those who cannot truly find the meaning in art like this. It's not my word to say, however, and it's
something that's gotten me into a lot of trouble in times before; I hope that they feel how you feel, and emotions can be shared.

Stay strong, sir; it heartens me that art like this can convey so much from one to another at any interval in time.

You, sir, are awesome!

The feeling of losing someone we deeply care for is one which hits us with indescribable force and literally knocks us into the ground. But it's all part of life, the process of learning how to get up once again.

That's why I really liked how you tackled this issue. These deep-space travelling pictures always made me think in how insignificant we and those we love really are in the larger picture of things. But then again, that same insignificance means that this fleeting life of our is even more special, because for an instant, we were here, soaking the immensity of it all, seeking each other for comfort, in one way or another, against the vast, uncompromising, dark.
And that’s why each life is so important and we need to help one another.

This picture actually made me think on some of the best songs from Thomas Bergersen. Not the overly epic ones, but the calmer ones, which evoke some deeper emotions. Case in point: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHsc3X…

Simple a great song to listen to while looking at this.
And now I’m overextending myself. Keep the good work, good sir.

Of all the comments I have ever read, I think yours is the most powerful.

You have got all I wanted to convey in this picture; the insignificance of us, the larger picture of life, and the interesting reversal of the message; and the positive ending there; we are alone in the dark but we don't need to be. Our true friends will be there and we do not need to ask.

As for your song choice – I have no idea how you stumbled on this – its so perfect to the picture I was gobsmacked; I was moved to tears and imagine how this scene would work! Seriously I am teary still – dammit, well done sir

Well done and more, thank you for making this pic more – I will amend with the relevant link and praise.

Cheers man

I never intendend to bring you to tears, my friend. It's just the way it all come together in my mind, in truth.

I always had tose feelings truly conveyed in my mind since I started reading hard sci-fi when I was 10. For me melancholy is part of the symbology of deep space. The fact that we are small doesn't mean we are worthless, much less to those we love.

Well, regarding the song, I love the mdoern great instrumental compsoers. Thomas Bergerson, David Ackerstone. John Powell, Hans Zimmer, to say a few. They can usually convey truly powerful emotions with these songs and that's why I love them so much.

Thank you for it, it wasn't really necessary.

Cheers, and keep the good art coming.
