Lascivious-the Sin of being lewd and filthy. This demon leaks bile from its face and exposes its intestines as a sign of its pleasure in filth. The dialogue is a play on words...a sort of trick to make the viewer inadvertently become a lewd person as well.
And "Sin" is delightfully agreeing in these actions....For all these reasons, this is a mature content piece. This is my 2nd tallest painting! Itβs a Whooping 10 feet tall! One of the most powerful pieces to see up close, because it makes you feel dwarfed by the size. I had to use a small ladder to paint this, and it took at least 5 small pints of paints and grays. The intestines were the most time-consuming to paint and the shadows were the most complex. I won an $800 prize in a gallery show for this one.

That's a shadow from a very long entwined piece of intestine that's coming from the far corner and curving up in an erection because Lascivious likes seeing Sin lick himself hahaha, but thatβs probably too much information to be telling people >_o

I cannot even begin to image how long this must have taken to great. The detailing, from what I can see, is exquist. I think you were able to personify that concept very well. Excellent craftsmanship to say the least.
^_^ Great audience interaction with drawing them into the concept. It is almost as if you wished to say, "Here is this mirror, now see that your image can be reflected from within it without you even trying." Is that a strange thing to say? In any case, it is one of the conclusions that come into my mind when I read your artist's comments in connection with the pick, but I may be reading too deep into it like I have a tendency to do.
I think the black bile is very appropriate from the concept as well. I do not know if you have ever read anything on the old Shakespearen era or Elizabethan era concepts of the use of certain types of fluids to tell why a person was the way they were. I won't bore you with all that though!
