this is a test page for my next title for .***character designs in this page are still not finalized. I still need to tweak them a bit more.

It ok if you're just practicing, as long the pose is credited. People are usually slamming the Big names. Anyway if the artist is copying the entire thing and made few changes then publishes it. Then it's unethical. I do hope he changes the pages before a lot of people notices it's a page from Oh great's tenjo tenje. I browsed his gallery and I couldn't help thinking which of these are original or copied.

well, the problem here is, if he IS copying from existing manga, he shouldn't because he's a professional comic artist now and that's a big no no, and no im not mad at you O_O

You're right, the two pictures look too alike for it only to be a coincidence, but there's not only that.
Like I mentioned before, I was wondering why the flying girl is dressed like Etna from Disgaea 2?

The clothes are almost exactly alike...Are all these elements mixed up together as some sort of parody or tribute?

Yes, looks very similar to the etna. But if the artist going to publish this locally, then it's not appropriate since it's like passing it off as original work. I suggest he changes the designs and the whole thing. And if he does reference make sure it looks different from the original.

Nope it's not a parody or a fanbased comic... I decided on not using the design since it was looking a lot like "Etna"it when I was inking it... but it was a waste, not finishing it...
