Sorry for the awful photograph! I'll try to replace it with a decent scan soon! Sorry for the wait, guys! Took me long enough to get it scanned, but it's been done! I hope you enjoy actually being able to see the detail now!
A Steller's sea eagle/snow leopard griffin with snazzy jewelry. Part 2 of this assignment:
The idea was to design a character somehow based on the animal we'd chosen to render.
I didn't want to do a griffin at first, mainly because that's all I do these days...I tried to fight it, but in the end....I went with a griffin after all
Ink and watercolor with a few hints of color pencil on roughpress paper

What a stylish dude! As usual, I love your detail in texturing feathers and fur. The rings on the talons look really neat, too!

The rings were interesting to research and draw, and so was the fur (the Zoo's snow leopard pelt and taxidermied tail were a huge help), though feathers -especially wing feathers- can be quite a pain to texture. I only managed to pull those off because of my Windsonde obsession all my practice.
You could say I got a ton of watercolor practice, yes... The class this was for required every project done in watercolor.

Obsessions can usually prove useful to your artistic palet! I remember that my initial fascination with Warrior Cats is the reason I got to practice in and decided to pursue art. Now I look back on those days and think of how distasteful most of what I did was. 
Oh gosh, all of your assignments? Sheesh, I can hardly hold a paintbrush as is so I can't imagine having to to all my assignments in watercolor.
Though I guess it'd make sense if it was a watercolor class....

GORGEOUS anatomy, design, and coloring! You've truly captured the flow of both feathers and fur, and the fact that this is WATERCOLORS just blew me away, I would have pegged it as markers haha, but this is just phenomenal and you have earned yourself a new watcher haha <3

God, here I go again... I LOVE YOUR FOLDED WINGS! Seriously! Beautiful 3D effect here, everything's all tucked in and neat and has all the right angles and length... guuuuhh~~! Beautiful coloring on the beak, eyes and jewelry, and I love the subtle shading of the thick, fluffy tail. Marvellous!
