During the war between the Allies and the Soviets, the Soviets swarmed the Allies with superior numbers and powerful tanks. The Allies attempted to counter with their tactics, but most failed until the latter parts of the war. Helicopters were also pioneered, and what we see here is a form of the AH-64A Apache. The Longbow is a stealthed form of the Apache, but stealth technology was not the premise of the war. Simply surviving was more of a concern.

To extend the war, the Allies and Soviets released helicopters. The Soviets launched their Hind gun platform, while the Allies released their missile Longbows. The advantage over the Hind was that the Longbow was faster, sleeker, and smaller, and could do more damage on its own with its anti-tank missiles. The Hind was more of anti-infantry weapon, packed more armor and was bigger, but was slower.
