Armor-based fleets are able to handle incursions against Sansha's Nation, whereas most fleets are shield-based. While shields can concentrate more total firepower onto the enemy than armor can, armor fleets typically have better target tracking and electronic warfare, which make for effective fighting in Vanguard-level areas. Armor fleets are invaluable for grinding incursion influence to nil, at which point the mothership can be attacked and destroyed.The Ditanian Fleet armor group engages an opposing Sansha's Nation fleet in a Vanguard site. The UNS Ackbar II Machariel-class Battleship is among the main attack unit.
