The lack of detail around and in her eye kind of tells she is crying. I even tried looking at it frame by frame It starts at the top to bottom like a tear. I don't see how this possibly could be an eye.

The idea is thatΒ the eye isΒ like the lenny face. ( Ν‘Β° ΝΚ Ν‘Β°) The blue circles are the iris, and there's no white of the eye. The reason why it looks like it goes from the top to the bottomΒ is because the rather talented animator wanted to add depth to her turning her head. As a head turns, so does the eye.
Also, if you look closely, you'll notice that the line that makes up the top of the eye differs in where it carries weight (thickness) depending on where she's looking or if she's looking at all. Another indicator that it's anΒ eye rather than a tear,Β is that the line underneath the eye (the cheekbone highlight) becomes further from the top line of her eye.
It's really well done, and a great use of time for the animator. This way, rather than detailing the underside of the eye and filling in the white for the entire animation, they save time while also effectively conveying the image.

Nope, I have to agree withΒ IttybittyLexy Β on this. Definitely looks like a tear. If it was her eye, it would not rotate to stay vertical as she turns her head, nor would it elongate in the manner it does.
