I just recently hit 300 watchers and i just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!!!! all the wonderful comments and favs, asdhesdrf i don't know what i would do without you guys!!
It's been almost a year since I started and Tokka week stuff was the first stuff i put on here, so i am REVISITING.
and it is seriously canon. if it wasn't, they wouldn't make us wait this long, they would flat out say NO TOKKA.

HA, I think your logic might not hold up to criticism.
BUT I do think Tokka as canon, whether it means Sokka is Lin's dad or her stepdad, is still a very logical and sensible concept, just because of the chemistry between the two and the fact we KNOW Toph had a crush on Sokka. (Suki seeming to totally abandon him in lieu of Kyoshi Warrior work while he went on to be a Councilman and Toph was Chief of Police in the SAME CITY, hm, the logic just continues to make me wonder...)

But..if Sokka were Lin's dad that would make Tenzin and Lin cousins...kissing cousins O.o but it'd be fine if he were her stepdad though. Toph+Sokka would be an interesting pair

the whole reason they broke up was because Pema fought for Tenzin's love, she had admitted her love to him and while not definitive how he came to being with Pema instead, there was an episode Pema had explained that to Korra when Korra had difficulties expressing her feelings for Mako.

It is in all likelihood not canon, sorry to burst your bubble. Why? That'd make Lin and Tenzin cousins. Do you really think that the moral guardians would allow incest on a kids show?

Who ever said Sokka is the father? Maybe Toph thought she loved a guy, got pregnant and the guy ran, and THEN hooked up with Sokka. Maybe even Tenzin and Lin never actually knew who the father was, it might be the whole reason they had to break up.

Here's what I figure:
Remember how so much of TLA involved subtle references to the Star Wars Trilogy? Remember how you never definitively learned that Luke and Leia were siblings until Return of the Jedi, a film released SIX YEARS after Ep4: A New Hope? I can almost imagine Mike and Bryan pulling a fast one and outing that they were in fact related, completely to the surprise of either one.
But frankly, that panders far too much to my headcanon, so I'll just leave it be and enjoy the season finale
