Description The Wives of King Henry VIII ... Disney Style!

The completed, colored version. Even the sparkles.

From the left: Catalina de Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna von Cleves, Catherine Howard, Catherine Parr

Fullview is a must!!!

** Info Update ** When I was coloring, I realized that I didn't know the colors of certain attributes of each wife. For instance, Anne of Cleves' hair. I have many Tudor books, none of which stated the color of Anne's hair. So I decided to search through movie representations of Anne of Cleves, and found that the actresses all had dark hair. So I colored her hair brown. But now that I've had some time off of school, and the luxury of money to buy new books, I have found that Anne had blonde hair.

I've actually drawn something very similar to this, but nowhere near as good. I had the same trouble with Anne of Cleeves' hair colour.

Oh,I just love this!

I wish Disney would do a 2D movie about The Tudors but it would probably never happen with all those beheadings involved

True.... but the original stories for most of Disney's movies are rather morbid in nature. Could it be possible to Disnify the Tudors?

I love love love your Tudor characters- I'm hoping to do some of my own soon!
Also, you've done a pretty good job on the expressions and colouring I think, like you say, accounts of Anne of Cleves for some reason aren't widely known, just come across one that mentions her hair in Starkey's 6 Wives.
This may sound like a stupid question (I am not very computer literate yet!) but how did you colour them in?

Once again, these are awesome!

Love! Love! Anna von Cleves and Katherine Parr have been my favorites. I enjoy how you portrayed each of them, even with the Disney style, you don't seem to have lost the characterizations of them! Bravo.

Hm... the only thing I'm iffy about is Katherine of Aragon's hair. Those of Spanish blood - especially in the Tudor era - were notorious for having dark hair and still are. Genetically speaking, only people from the UK and a handful from Ireland bear red hair. Other than that, great pic! ^^

Catalina of Aragon had an English grandmother. And, the Spanish royalty were known for having red hair. Even Mary Tudor had red hair.

LoL. It's not an argument. But here's a portrait.

and from the ever wonderful wiki:

"Catherine was of a very fair complexion, had blue eyes, and had a hair colour that was between reddish-blonde and auburn; these were typical in members of the TrastΓ‘mara family who were descendants of Peter I of Castile."

Very well done! They all look lovely!

My only critique is that Jane seems to almost blend in with the background becauses of the colors and I always notice her last when I look at the picture.

Unless thats is suppose to be a reference to her character... lol

i think she was just curvier than what Henry was used to. i don't think she was overweight.
