In which a small conversation with Gabby finally brings out my true nature, though be it light hearted

The picture may look fun but it's actually got a bit more of a meaning behind it, one that is a little bit darker. I've always enjoyed my actual name, it is unique in a way (at least the spelling) and it has stuck by me for my whole life. Another thing I've liked about it is that it's never been specific to any gender. Recently I've been sufering from a sort of self loathing, which after some research I've gathered it is most likely gender dysphoria. Actually I'm fairly sure that's what it is. I may have said it already but ever since puberty I've grown increasingly uncomfortable with the fact that my chest is not flat, and I've done everything I can to hide it without using bandages, seeing as that's the easiest way for me to break my ribs. The one time I did, I felt so much better the whole day with nothing sticking out. Increasingly I've noticed myself trying to 'hide' more and feeling uncomfortable looking in the mirror. In truth I've always liked the name Charles, and I've had countless dreams of that kind of 'perfect self' of mine where people call me Charles (actually Charlie-Boy comes up a lot which I find would probably suit me better at the moment), so I adopted it slightly. My alien character Charlie really is just me, just a hell lot more bad ass, and not human, and with the name that I like the most.

In less seriousness though I've always had this kind of little moment that I'd love to be called Charles, if just for awhile. Which is why, since I must protect my identity here on teh internets, call me Charles, or Charlie-Boy, or hell even C.G.
