Everlasting eternity and infinity?
Some have fallen,
Plummeted to ground,
Yet you remained upright,
Sauntered down
In a flare of blackened feathers.
What tempted you?
What brought you here?
What did this mortal world
Have to offer you?
Striking blue eyes
Kind yet piercing
Set contrast against black hair.
Those eyes that one could get lost in
Gaze from above most of us
And smile with overwhelming kindness.
Your wings are still there
Pressed against your back,
Strong and study as ever
Yet soft and comforting to the touch.
Will you one day take off on those wings?
Touch the heavens again?
Or will I be lucky enough
To have at least one wrap around me?
