Description
Taken in Downtown San Diego after Day 2 (Friday) of Comic-Con 2006.This trip to San Diego was really amazing. It was my first real "road-trip". It was my first major non-auto convention. It was a LOT of fun. San Diego is a really great place and if you've never been, I highly recommend it.
I didn't know what to expect when I went to Comic-Con, but it was one of the most fun things I've ever done. I'm not sure what it was. Maybe it was the L O S T conference. Maybe it was meeting Doug Benson and the guy who played Bulk on the original Power Rangers. Maybe it was seeing Lou Ferrigno, Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, Eric Bana, and Quentin Tarentino. Maybe it was seeing Maddox for the second and third times in a span of 2 weeks. Maybe it was meeting Flo Jalin and Linda Tran. And getting a picture of Linda Tran sitting on my lap. (^^,) I think it was a combination of all the above as well as everything else that I couldn't possibly mention as well.
I love getting away. Don't get me wrong, I love Redondo Beach, but trips are just really really cool! The whole feeling of being in a new city is just really...invigorating? I think so, to a certain extent. I just loved the whole vibe of it. Being away from home is so relaxing. Seriously. This is a high-stress environment right here. San Diego was just so chill (even amidst the thousands and thousands of comic-book fans).
I loved walking around downtown San Diego. By the way, I must have lost SOME weight with all the walking I did on Friday and Saturday. I walked Comic-Con basically nonstop for...oh...5 and 6 hours, respectively. Then for another...oh...3 on Friday. Just exploring the city of downtown. Taking lots of pictures. It's a shame I only stayed there for a few days (Thurs-Sun). There's so much to do there, it's really amazing. I wish I could have stayed longer. Oh well, it'll be there for a while, so I'll have time.
There's so much great architecture in San Diego (like most great cities). Here we see hotels on the left and right and a culinary center in the middle. The title, "Classy", is a subtle reference to Will Ferrell's Anchorman, one of my favorite films. My intention was to reference this film in one of my SD deviations and, as much as I wanted to, opted against naming this, "Whale's Vagina".
Savor the flavor of this badass description, because it sure as hell won't happen again. At least I don't expect it will.
I'd really like some feedback, you guys. Thank you so much.
