Description
Here is a picture that I did of my original character, Whitnee Squirrel, meeting one of her favorite video game heroes of all time, Super Mario. After being able to play the NES game "Super Mario Bros. 3" not too long ago, I was in the mood for drawing a small set of pictures involving the Squirrel Sisters (Whitnee and Jade) meeting the Mario Bros. (Mario and Luigi) and being able to spend time with each other. As you can tell in this picture I've done, I was able to draw Whitnee in a red kimono for such a picture because of a dream I had a while back that was based on the Disney animated movie "Wreck-It Ralph", which I dreamt about Whitnee and Jade being the stars of a Japanese-themed arcade video game, and they'd be able to interact with the characters from other video games as well. And so, I decided to draw Whitnee being able to meet Mario in his own game world, and they would be able to spend the day together afterwards. As I was coloring the picture in, I was able to use an assortment of different patterns to color in the scenery. The picture turned out incredibly nice after being completed, and it's sure to please my friends and everyone else as well.Whitnee Squirrel (c) Casey Decker

Yeah, that is so true, man. Whitnee would definitely want to hang out with Mario for sure, since he's always been one of her most favorite video game heroes of all time as well.

My, Mario's a small man. How tall is Whitnee supposed to be anyway?
It's a shame that the Mario Brothers didn't get to show up in Wreck-it Ralph. The studio wanted to have them make a cameo, but Nintendo was asking for too much money.

In case you're wondering how tall my anthro animal characters are supposed to be the way I draw, Whitnee is actually supposed to be about 5' 6", which is a few inches shorter than an average adult person in real life.

Actually, that would only be considered short for an adult male. For a female 5'6" would be on the upper end of average.

Well, my characters are furries, so they're meant to be a little shorter than human people.

By that logic I think Whitnee would be considered tall. As for my characters, I've made them all human sized. Of course, species may factor in a little bit. I have a chihuahua OC named Zoe who's only 4' 11'', making her my shortest OC to date, where as my crocodile OC Harvey is 6' 8''. He's currently my tallest OC. My squirrel OC Gwen is 5' 9'', so she's quite tall for a female.

Because I'm able to create the characters any way I want, I think it's fair that I should decide how tall that my characters should be as long as it's a size that I find suitable for each character to have. Believe it or not, one of the sizes that I was going for my characters was actually 5' 7", which is the height of Little Mac from "Punch-Out!!", and I thought it would be suitable for my furry characters, especially the female characters because of them being a little shorter than the male characters.

Of course you are. I was never arguing against that. I was simply giving some examples from my collection of characters. Why would I have trouble believing that you would make a character 5' 7''? That's perfectly respectable, and fairly tall for a female. Yes, on average females tend to be shorter than males.

I just figured that because my characters are humanoid animals, they would be just a little shorter than most human people (but just by a few inches).

If they live in a world shared with humans, I suppose that makes sense. Just think if they were actual scale with real world species. Whitnee and Jade would only be around a foot tall.

Yeah, that would be true as well, since non-anthro squirrels are usually about a foot tall in height.

Exactly! It would make for an interesting dynamic, though I think it's easier to make everybody human sized, relatively speaking. It's more relatable.

No, I don't think she'd do that, since Whitnee is the one who actually prefers having her feet tickled.
