I love this two-part comic.Β I enjoyed the irony of her reaction when the fairy saved her (in part 2).Β Be careful of what you wish for!

I guess it is sort of up to the rescuer to decide the best course of action to take based on the circumstances.
(Not gonna put myself in a similar situation and hope for the best, tho...)

A fine example of "be careful what you wish for." If it weren't so tasteless (haha) I'd say "out of the frying pan..."

The entire sequence isn't here (and isn't likely to be), so you don't know how close you are to the truth.

Still, shouldn't the legs have become the tail? That fairy has weird tastes.

Good job on this; you know this is totally out of the blue, buit looking at the girl in the picture's outfit, she reminds me of either April from the old Hanna Barbera show Funky Phantom, or Debbie from the old Hanna Barbera show Speed Buggy.
April wore almost the same type of skirt and dress as the girl here, but her dress was some shade of purple; while Debbie wore a racing suit and bell bottoms, but her suit was always blue colored.

It isn't as out of the blue as you think. I'm actually happy someone picked up on it.
- The drawing relies heavily on principles widely used in classic cell animations of the 60's and 70's; lots of circles, simple lines, little or no shading in the figures, and "S-curves" everywhere.
- April's outfit was the same general style and used the same colors. She wore a V-neck sweater over a white turtleneck and a simple white skirt. I wanted a simple outfit, and hers was general enough that, except for the top, might still be found today. I replaced the sweater with a scoop-neck T, and kept the colors not only as an homage to my second-favorite HB female character, but because they fit well into the scene.
- "Speed Buggy's" Debbie was a brunette, but she, April, Daphne, as well as Josie and the Pussycats, and numerous other females in HB parlance were generally the same female form with slightly different faces and hair styles. Put April into a Pussycat outfit and she'd look very similar to Melody from the latter show. Both females in the above image use exactly the same body type found in countless HB cartoon females with different heads, and hair.

Hi Coralwerks, I just posted an update to a journal I did about writing challenges and it would be cool if you could check it out and tell me what you think and if you have any ideas.

True, very true on all counts; and it's nice to talk to someone who is a fellow Hanna Barbera fan(as I am).
Of course my number one favorite Hanna Barbera show is Scooby Doo, but I do have a soft spot for most of the "Meddling Kids" style HB shows; that is most of the shows that the company produced that had teenagers trying to solve mysteries of all kinds.
I also like hearing about or getting into the deeper backgrounds of a lot of those shows(i'm somewhat of a trivia buff on cartoons and I like hearing about the history and backgrounds of those shows).
Come to think of it I didn't think the comment was out of the blue considering you've done a few Daphne pics before; I figured I was getting the right audience to speak to when I started talking about Hanna Barbera.

What fun! Also a real improvement on your style! Clean lines, vivid colors, it's a big step forward for you.

I gotta agree with the fairy there^^ Best cure for inevitable drowning? Turn the damsel in distress into a fish <3
