This could be a re-imagined Dr. Mrs. The Monarch from The Venture Brothers - at least that was my first thought.

wow! you did this so quickly and so well! This picture is beautiful! her facial structure is so cool and i love how you did her hair! Everything in this is perfectly placed from the butterfly to her earrings!

From the curls of the hair twisting in the wind, the slight/lovely tilt of the head to that punctuating swirl of the dress - nice, nice piece.

Overall the piece flows with the colors which I assume took the most amount of time. The little wrap around line for the butterfly was a nice touch as well.

Quicky's are usually the best way to try something new without investing any doubt or second guessing yourself.
And now lookin at some of the contrasts you mentioned expands the view I've got on the piece itself.
