Description The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are mentioned in the Bible in chapter six of the Book of Revelation. The four horsemen are traditionally named Conquest (riding a white horse), War (riding a red horse), Famine (riding a black horse), and Death (riding a pale/green horse).

The word used to describe the color of the 'pale' horse is the Greek word chloros or green. It is meant to convey the sickly green tinge of the deathly ill or recently dead. Since the literal translation 'green' does not carry these connotations in English the word is rendered 'pale' in most English translations.

Incredible fractal-art and presentation, and that's a very interesting piece of information about the colour green - I never knew that, and the original meaning is far deeper - but then it would be... If only we had words in our respective languages that could accurately be interpreted, I think we'd be quite surprised at all the implications we currently miss!

I think I liked the one that looked like sea horses better.
*thought it was Pestilence, not Conquest. Must be getting senile*

Makes me think of birds more than horses somehow ....

Pestilence is sometimes substituted for Conquest, but if you check reliable sources, you will see that Conquest is correct
Thank you for your nice comments

I bow to your greater knowledge and sounder mind. My Book doesn't cover this.

But I still see birds!

By the way, did you notice the bow in Conquest (the white rider carries a bow), and the sword in War (the red rider carries a sword)?

Very interesting information..and a dynamic and meaningful visual representation- particularly the colors and flow, given your comments. I wonder how "famine" would look rotated 180 degrees and with the text on the lower left. A timely piece and well done.

Good thought, that would add some symmetry to it. I was just trying to put the caption where the black lettering would show on the white background ok. Thanks for your comments
