Like his gorgeous self; a stunning, pure white hide is what catches his eye. Extra points for elegance, long mane/tail, and of the Arabian breed. Yes. He is just a jerk that way. They have to look like himself... "the perfect exam of beauty."

“Who’s the most handsome stallion to walk the Island of Olde? That’s right! I am! ” Narcissist {Vain}: Alabaster believes himself to be drop dead gorgeous. There are none to compare to his glorious good looks. That unblemished white hide…that snowy, long, flowing mane and wind whipped alabaster tail… Those poor, unfortunate, lesser attractive horsies… he tends to pity them…when he isn’t starring with reverence at his own reflection. Alabasters often tries to ‘help’ the other equine by giving beauty tips and attempting to primp their manes…even if they don’t want him to.

“No matter what happens, I’ll be right beside you!” Loyal {Trustworthy} {Devoted} {Reliable} {Dedicated}: Well, being a self-obsessed narcissist doesn’t make him a total jerk. Though he may make a fuss over his hide’s sleek shine, and the occasional burr snagged in his mane, Alabaster will drop everything to help a friend or someone he is faithful to. Not one to double cross or lie, Alabaster is loyal till the end.

“The unicorns…such a magnificent race!” Religious : Not to any extreme level, like a shaman or an extremist; but he does believe, without a doubt, in the unicorns. He prays without complaint and obliges to every ceremony and custom of the Olde Herd. He just isn’t one to question things.

“Oh dear…you poor creature. Let me help.” Kindhearted {Generous} {Sympathetic} {Kind} This trait is not to be mistaken as making him some mushy push-over. Though he is by no means unfriendly or mean, he just doesn’t seem to be someone particularly prone to sympathy and such. And he isn’t. He is quite self-obsessed. This side of him seeps through involuntarily when he feels a particularly intimate connection to the subject of this attention. And by that I don’t necessarily mean love… but a sort of friendship or close bond very much qualify. It is not a conscious choice, or does it even give that individual an ‘especially close to his heart’ place, but it is simply a way he acts toward certain persons.
For example, the way one treats their favorite pet versus their best friend is likely to differ quite a lot. Though they enjoy the company of their friend, they do not pet and cuddle her as they do Fluffy the bunny. They treat the friend in a much more dignified manner; though still feel equally loving toward that individual as they do their favorite pet.

“Oh no! My left rear hoof is less shiny than the other three! It must be fixed this instance!” Perfectionist {Obsessive} {Stickler} Alabaster isn’t excessively perfectionistic, but enough so to be labeled as one. It’s when it comes down to his appearance that he really starts to get nitty-gritty. Not one hair can be out of place. He must look perfect at all times. Or so help him he feels a total wreck and will get rather jittery if he is unable to fix even the smallest blemish.

“Ugh! Excuse me sir…but when is the last time you bathed?” Hygienic {Clean} {Sanitary} Goes along with his obsession over his appearance; he must be clean and well-kept all the time. Unsanitary, dirty horses tend to gross him out. He makes a regular habit of washing in rivers and other bodies of water. It is very rare to find Alabaster rolling in the dirt or with anything less than a sparkling white hide. Of course this tends to cause a lot of problems for him. Such a color serves no camouflage and is easily picked out by predators, and because of The Olde Islands high cougar population, he puts himself at quite a risk. Alabaster keeps close to the herd, rarely wandering off alone because of the constant danger that surrounds him. He also tends to stay away from tall shrubbery, preferring open fields as there are fewer bushes to scratch his legs and snag his tail.

“Ha! I could do that twice…no….three times better than you!” Show-Off: Alabaster is a huge show off, mostly aiming at his looks. He’ll always be sure to flip his mane prettily or toss his head elegantly when a cute mare walks by. That is…when he’s not busy admiring himself. However, actions aren’t really his thing. He is by no means a daredevil and doesn’t try to act like it. Besides, he might get dirty heavens forbid.

“This is soooooo unfair. Why do I have to do it?” Complainer {Crybaby} {Whiner} {Immature}: Alabaster is quiet the fusser; he could complain about anything. It’s not something he does constantly, but if he is unhappy, he becomes the whiniest crybaby around. If he has to trek through unfavorable conditions, you’ll be sure to hear his loud protests. Being under pressure or having to work will also rile up his complaints.

“Well, you’re on the right track, but improvement is still possible …” Potential-Seer : Alabaster, besides his own flaws, has an eye for potential. He tends to see someone’s good qualities before noticing the bad. Whether this feature is how lavish a certain horse’s mane is, or the air in which they carry themselves. He then tends to want to fix their faults and improve upon any hidden possibilities. This way of seeing expands to his approach of thinking as well. He separates the problem and then counts up the advantages and disadvantages separately, so as to gain a clearer picture. This would be the characteristic that placed him as an advisor; his method of viewing and trying to solve a situation.

“Ah…this fog has such a mysterious effect!” Dreamer {Imaginative} {Visionary} {Fantasist} Alabaster can be quite the dreamer; always thinking up grand fantasies in his mind, to which he is the star. More often than not, his daydreaming has to do with his ‘beauty’. Sometimes he’ll even space off whilst starring at his own reflection.

History:
Alabaster has a fairly unexciting history; free of traumatic events and forbidden secrets. Both his parents were of Arabian blood, light in color, and hailed from the Olde herd. He was raised as any average foal; taught traditions, pray, and use his free time to play with the other colts and fillies of the season. Nothing much set him apart from the others, save for his unusual, pure white coat; free of any dapples or discolorations. His parents did worry it would attract predators, and so were sure to keep close watch over him, but without restricting his freedom. Though Alabaster had always been a bit particular about his appearance, in that he was slightly less enthusiastic to roll in the dust as his playmates did, it wasn’t until a certain event that he became utterly obsessed with himself. One day, while exploring the abandoned city, he came across a peculiar object hanging on the wall inside one of the ancient, crumbling buildings. An old, slightly clouded mirror. At first he mistook his fuzzy reflection for another colt, and went to investigate when the stranger failed to answer his polite hello. Upon reaching the item, it took him but a few moments to realize that the foreign thing worked something like the surface of a pond, but that it did not ripple and portrayed a clearer reflection; thus allowing Alabaster a better look at himself. It was then that he decided he was absolutely striking. Such a fetching, well chiseled head; and what a fine, silky mane and tail; all topped with gorgeous, dark eyes, for a stylish contrast. He was Beautiful He stared into the mirror for quite some time, admiring himself most vainly. It wasn’t until his parents came to fetch him that he finally went away from it. From then on, he visited the mirror as often as he could, so as to admire his perfect self. And to this day, the mirror is still a popular hang-out for the young stallion.

lll Reese: "Little brat! The insufferable hooligan is going to get herself into some serious trouble one day soon!" After teasing, taunting, humiliating, and dirtying him; Alabaster had, had enough! The two had a very eventful encounter involving a lot of wet Alabasters and laughing Reeses.

Bjørn: "Ah yes! Marvelous little fellow, that Bee-Yarn. My assistant actually." Alabaster took an immediate liking to the little horse after he helped free his tail of a rather pesky burr. The stallion then invited his short company to be his beauty assistant and being polite as he is, Bjørn agreed.

Cherris: "Such a nice mare! Marvelous green eyes! She's a tad clumsy and talks a lot though. Anyway, she makes a nice decoration piece." After bumping into him on a foggy day, the two had a slightly bumpy first encounter. Exasperated with his self-centered views, Cherry tried her best to convince Alabaster that there was more to life then external beauty, but he misunderstood most of what she said and only managed to get a bigger head. In the end, though, the two confirmed a friendship and have being hanging out for some time.

lll lll {} "I-I-don't know. She confessed feelings for me. Deep feelings. I don't know how to respond...I've never had serious feelings for anyone....and I'm not sure I feel as strongly as she does...I just...I don't know what to do." After pouring out her heart to Alabaster, the stallion became a bit stunned and was awkward in response. Feeling rejected, the mare left before he could say anything more. A short time later Alabaster made an attempt to rush after her, but found that she was already gone.

Anura dismally paced the dark, stuffy library of her father’s villa. Her eyes caught a flickering gleam of red; something was reflecting by way of a weak, watery sunlit ray managing to trickle from the crack between the heavy, drawn curtains. Turning her head to examining the cause of this obnoxious show of bright laughter in such a stark room and dreary period; she found herself studying a large, overstuffed chair, and next to it a small, modest side table. A thick, perky red volume sat upon the table, one of it bright crimson corners having deflected the light. Another wave of anxiety took hold of Anura’s heart, pinching tight her waning hope. A cheerful scene took shape before her. Upon the chair, a jovial ginger cat sat comfortably, his young daughter, quite unlike him in appearance, sitting upon his lap. Together, they flipped the pages of the cerise storybook, laughing and having quite a good time together. Suddenly, the image disappeared, and the room was still once more as the library’s entrance creaked open…
