Personality: [Brute] [Codependent] [Temperamental] [Bloodlust] [Blind Rage] [Insecure] [Troublemaker] [Loyal]
Brute {Aggressive} {Temperamental} {Cruel} - Stoutclaw may grumble and gripe over his lowly tasks and social rank intermittently, often taking it out on other cats if he feels he can get away with it. These vent victims are often weaker, lower ranked, etc.; thus giving him a sense of power in knowing there are worse off cats then himself and he can pick on them freely. Whether it’s just for fun, or because he needs to vent, Stoutclaw is a bully.
CoDependent {Uninventive} {Dull} {Shallow} - Not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, Stoutclaw has a hard time coming up with his own ideas and isn’t much for deep thinking. You may find him hanging around other cats with similar immoral dispositions to his, but who possess more for intelligence and creativity, thus more inventive ways to cause trouble. He is quite keen to listen to their orders and willing to do the dirty work as long as he gets some fun mischief or an entertaining fight out of the deal.
Temperamental {Unstable emotions} {Bi-Polar} {Rude/Grouchy} - Stoutclaw always seems to be in permanent ‘grouch mode’. A scowl appears to be perpetually glued to his face. Almost everyone seems to annoy him. Chatterboxes, spitters, dreamers, and giggly she-cats get on his nerves like crazy… and he isn’t hesitant to let them know how he’s feeling, usually in a rather cantankerous way. It’s a wonder sometimes if he really likes anyone but himself, and even that’s questionable.
Bloodlust {vicious} {cruel} – It’s not uncommon for Stoutclaw to get ‘carried away’. Whether in the heat of battle, or just in the mood, the vicious tom will show little mercy. He has a twisted sort of pleasure in causing pain for others.
Blind Rage {Fierce} {Furious} {Ferocious} Stoutclaw is prone to “Blind Rage”. When angered beyond his capacity, he will fight ferociously and blindly. He can be easily avoided in his careless state of fury, because of his lack of focus, but if caught up in his vicious, angry charge, the outcome can be fatal.
Insecure {Once bitten twice shy} – His emotional insecurity is likely a result of his bullying. Stoutclaw can hardly stand being rejected in anyway, though he rarely shows this weakness, due to his years of hardening against negative influence. Because he is so pent up inside, It is very hard (and rare) for him to reach out to someone he would like to call a friend. If he feels he has been rejected or betrayed, Stoutclaw may distance himself from said cat as a defense mechanism to protect his emotions further. It is unlikely he could ever bring himself to mend a broken relationship. Insults and other such issues caused by cats don’t bother him a bit, so long as the one trying to antagonize him wasn’t a former friend or someone he had exposed himself to.
Troublemaker {Bully} {Reckless} {Rebellious} {Hedonistic} {Insensitive} Always on the lookout for trouble, Stoutclaw takes great pleasure in pulling pranks and braking rules, indifferent to the feelings he hurts or consequences he’ll face. From luring a feline unable to swim into the river, to slipping herbs with unpleasant results into a cat’s meal… Stoutclaw takes great pleasure in seeing the pains and struggles of others. If something is marked as off-limits, you can be sure to find Stoutclaw trundling about right in the middle of it.
Loyal - As stated above, he isn't terribly intelligent. Trickery and manipulation really aren't his style, he uses brute force. As long as he has a leader to help channel his anger and violence in productive, preoccupying work, he won't question much.
History
Stoutclaw just has another one of those generic, overused bad guy backstories. His parents die…blahblah…he’s bullied…blahblah…harbors negative feelings from overall deprived childhood…yadayada. He might have turned out ok if he had found a way to deal with his anger or maybe if all that bad stuff just hadn’t happened to him in the first place…but hey, where would the clans be without villains?
Anyway, it’s not until he reaches his prime that things start to get a little interesting (though still generic): (All of the below is based off his rps)
Stoutclaw’s been idling away his useless life up to this point. He feels the code pretty much doesn’t apply to him and causes the clans all sorts of trouble. He’s made a habit of trespassing on other territories, stealing prey, and starting fights among clanmates and outsiders. Then one day, things get a little out of hand. He’s started a fight with some Shadowclan she-cat named Lilypad and kills her. He realizes he rather liked the powerful feeling it gave him…
At one point he earns himself an archnemisis, Pebblefur, and the two have a number of eventful encounters. Against all odds, he even manages to find himself a special someone, Rockytail of Thunderclan, and saves her life during swimming lessons. (WOW! A taboo rival clan secret love + bad boy crushes on good girl + Riverclanner giving swimming lessons to outsider! Never seen that before *sarcasm*) The two meet in secret from then on.
Thistleburr becomes rather close to Stoutclaw, what with their common love of power and mischief. The chaotic duo cause problems a plenty orphaning kittens, terrorizing dogs, and beating up kittypets.
And here’s where the conflict with oneself begins… Should Stouclaw amend his ways, leave his past behind, and try to settle down with Rockytail? Or is it too late for him? Is he fated to be a bad tempered clan rebel forever? The answer becomes clear in a sudden, violent way. Thistleburr is murdered. Stoutclaw stumbles across his dear friend’s cold, blood soaked body and hunts down the killer. Stormfeather, an ex-Riverclanner turned Thunderclanner slayed his old clan mate in self-defense, but Stoutclaw doesn’t see it that way. He pins the traitor, but chooses to set him free with the promise that he will set his sights on the Thunderclan family Stormfeather left Riverclan for. But before he can make true to his promise, Robincall (Stormfeather’s Thunderclan mate) and one of their kits die in childbirth. This fails to faze Stoutclaw from the trail; instead he finds a new way to wreak havoc.
Gathering all the willing cats he can manage, Stoutclaw leads a raid on Thunderclan against his leader, Echostar’s, wishes. Some of his followers are Riverclan, angry at Stormfeather for abandoning his birth clan. Others are loners, rogues, or even from other clans, each with his or her own reason for hating Thunderclan enough to use violence. Stormfeather and one of his kits escape before Stoutclaw can get to them. The brutal tom then confronts Maplestar, taking one of her lives in battle. She takes him by surprise when she is revived by another life. Maplestar and Echostar then chase him from Thunderclan. The rest of his posse disperses into the snowy night once they realize their leader has fled.
Upon his return to Riverclan later that night, Stoutclaw is banished by Echostar. He threatens to take revenge before fleeing his old camp, never to return.
Stoutclaw sneeks back into Thunderclan the next day and into the medicine den where his mate, Rockytail, lay dying from the scale plague. Sorrofully, he ends their relationship, knowing it’s for her own good. If anyone where to find out of their involvement, he fears what might become of the young calico.
Upon his third day of banishment, Stoutclaw finds himself once more upon the banks of Riverclan, planning to assassinate any of his ex-clan mates that wander by. He promised revenge after all. As fate would have it, Echostar was taking a walk, caught up in her turmoil of thought concerning the recent events to have befallen her clan. Seizing his chance, Stoutclaw attacked. The small she-cat could do little against his superior strength and size, and things weren’t looking to well for the Riverclan leader. Whether the intervening of Starclan was at hand, or just an accident, Stoutclaw stumbled amid the flurry of battle and landed squarely on a rusty old tent peg. The sharp point pierced his heart, ending the ferocious feline’s life.
He awakened in a dark wood, blinking his glowing amber eyes amid the sickly green fog that hung low to the shadowy ground, swirling and twisting into a number of unnerving and unnatural shapes. He was numb and uncaring. Nothing mattered anymore. His parents and Goldenheart were in Starclan… Rockytail would go to Starclan when her time came… But he was in the Dark forest, he would never see any of them…ever. But that didn’t matter. He was DONE with the clans. At last he had found a place he truly belonged, The Dark Forest.
Having rid himself of his warrior name for the most part, he now refers to himself as ‘Heartless’. He spends his days searching endlessly through the dark and haze of the forest, calling out to his lost friend. His voice can be heard ringing through the trees in an eerie way, “Thistelbur!” “Thistleburrrrr!” He rarely speaks to anyone ever. Because of his mysterious, elusive ways, he goes by many names brought about by curious Dark Foresters. “The Lost One”, “The Seeker”, and “The Heartless One” (due to the visible stake still lodged in his heart as well as the few cats who he has told his name: “Heartless”)
