Then...
Hannah started as an Invader Zim OC back when I was in 8th grade or so. She was the daughter of Zim and another OC. And yes, I am quite embarrassed that she had to start out like that. But, I was 14 at the time. Anyhow, back then she actually had legs, arms, and tail and no tentacles and was just a weird kind of Irken. She had antennae off the tips of her ears as well that curled inward. Her mother was a sort of lioness-like creature with a fluffy tail, and so was Hannah.
A couple years later, I had fallen out of interest with Invader Zim, but I still liked Hannah. At some point, I wanted to take her arms, legs, and tail away and replace them with tentacles. Thus litch Hannah was born. She roamed Limbo with her own hellhound steed and greeted unfortunate, trapped souls. She took on a Casper The Friendly Ghost outlook. She was a monster that feasted on the dead, but she was also amiable to souls and Limbo creatures alike.
For a long while, I left that character for scraps and didn't pay much attention to her until I was a freshmen is high school. I had a world civ. class that was just 90 minutes of a teacher lecturing while giving us notes to copy down. I also had a Biology class that was the same way. So, as you can imagine, I doodled like mad in those classes. A lot of characters we developed in my brain that year. That was when Hannah became relevant again. She remained a cloaked, tentacled monster with a friendly face. Only this time, she was no longer a litch. Now, I had created her to be an alien, ditching her hellhound as well. She also had friends this time, but all of them eventually dropped out of relevancy.
All, except for one. Enter Tari, another scrapped IZ OC. Hannah was far too friendly and gentle to survive the new, desert-like, monster-littered conditions I put her in. Tari became her best friend and a sort of bodyguard until Hannah grew bigger. Hannah could secrete black, scalding hot mucus, now, to protect herself, but she's still very small compared to the other creatures lurking her planet.

Hannah and Tari are still in their own story. In addition, Hannah has now been tweaked to where, when she becomes an adult, she will grow to an incredible size. Underneath her cloak is a developing exoskeleton and wings. She will eventually grow to resemble a large insect and become so large, that she will have to become another planet herself. She will shroud herself in vegetation and become a life-sustaining planet until she dies billions of years later. But, for now, she's 4-ft nothing and still friendly.
