One of my favorites from the entire trip.

This young lady had just graduated and was part of a three-generation reenacting family. They all worked at Fort Michilimackinac and while I spoke with them they were in the process of getting that evening’s supper prepared.
In this scene, she was husking the corn that had been soaking in water in the sun since early that morning. I was speaking with her mother at the time and noticed the lighting. It was too perfect to ignore. So I adjusted my camera settings while I carried on the conversation, and then raised it to take a quick shot and put it back down again so it would be as candid as I could get it. I was relieved when it didn’t come out blurry due to the quick motions.
