Description Please, when making starscapes, don't feel confined by my settings. I'm just telling you how *I* do it. And even I vary on this a bit. It's just a guideline, and you're meant to expand on it, and experiment with it.

And if you use this, please +fav this tutorial, as it will help others to find it and use it and learn from it.

I have personally read most of the other starscape tutes out there, and adjusted them and used them and made them my own and then proceeded to do it differently. Nothing stopping you, too, from doing this. And remember, this is the BASIC starfield, before adding anything else to it, like more prominent stars, or other cosmic presences.

Thanks for your wonderful tutorial.  I found it useful in my journal skin design, which is free to use.

Dude, you've saved my skin! THis tutorial is excellent even though I didn't have the whole Ctr-L thing... what was that anyway?

I'm not sure what's going on, but I think my PS is sabotaging me. Whenever I change the Brightness/Contrast, it changes it back, or at least does the very minimal amount.

I feel like a failure after doing this tutorial for an hour and still not getting the advertised results.

The tutorial was done using CS/CS2. If you're using a later version of CS, you will need to select the 'use legacy' option in Brightness/Contrast.

Thanks. I did my best to make it concise yet comprehensive.
That said, there's not many things to do when creating a simple starfield.

Very nice, MORBID. Haha, I will never accept your new name seriously, though, pretty swish for a guide. Easy to follow and experiment with. Mad props!

Thanks. Don't forget to experiment with the method. Altering the settings can produce denser or looser groups of stars. In some images you will not want to have a lot of stars, in others, you'll want areas with a lot. The starscape should depend on what else is in the image, in order to complement, and not overpower it.

I should also mention that you can do the small stars layers a few more times if you wish, in order to further build up star clusters. Increasing star density, however, can have an effect on the space glow effect as my settings show. You can, of course, modify this all yourself to take this into account.
