"I'm River Song... Check your records again."I know a lot of people don't like River...but the Season Finale really made me love her all the more. She is ridiculously bad-ass.
I have bittersweet feelings about this picture, because I worked for so very long ... stayed up over 24 hrs..and worked on it til my eyes literally felt like they were burning, and I like it..but I'm not as happy with it as I was. When I first drew it.. it actually looked a lot more like River's face, but due to an unfortunate 'Cat scaring the crap out of me' accident, that caused me to defile her face with a graphic pencil....unfortunately, no matter how many times I tried to re-do it, it didn't come out the same. (I think I ripped the paper underneath) I'm just depressed at how her face turned out...::Sigh:: but I don't wanna do anymore damage by trying to fix it again, maybe I'll re do the whole picture when I'm coherent?
Otherwise...I never realized how difficult her hair is. ...lol but in the words of Van Gogh, it was definitely a challenge, and I really liked it once it was done with. Still trying to figure out what to do with the background..nothing seems to look right, so I just left it the way it is.
Anyway, I hope you guys like it, comments and criticism welcome as always (Please let me know what you think!)

looks great! you defiantly caught her sassyness (I'm a big river fan) and yeah sometimes it's best to just re-do things alter rather than just working them over and over

Yeah I'm noticing that..lol, and I generally work on a medium sketchbook so usually the details are super tiny, and if you erase anything you erase a lot which causes issues...lol XD oh well. Eitherway, thanks so much for the comment!

Yay! There can never be enough River Song art out there. Being an Alex Kingston fan it's possible I'm just a little bit biased here.
When did they ever confirm that she was the Doctor's wife? When the characters make guesses on screen like that it's usually a red herring, isn't it? I thought it would be too obvious to be true. Doctor Who is written by magicians, and they never like being obvious...
I agree that the pose on top of the TARDIS is awesome. I can't think of anywhere else where anyone's done that before.

I dont know if they ever really confirmed that she was or not.. but I know they just love to hint at it with all the flirting. I almost wonder sometimes though if she actually has no real relation to him in the future, and is only using this "charade" to get buddy buddy with him or something. You're right though, they tend to throw out a lot of red herrings like that.
And thank you! Im glad ya like it. I always think of River being that really "radical" kind of gal that would totally climb up the Tardis to sit on it despite The Doctor's protests.

Maybe you should put some dark gradient or something for the background... just a thought, it looks a bit plain with just the white. Love this pic, and Love River too!

Good idea! Yeah I've been unsure of what to do with the background, I've got a couple a different drafts, but I havent posted them cause I wasnt sure which ones I like better. And thanks

I love River! It's just they way she act's; like she knows no matter what she says it'll be done. Even by the man with the bowtie himself. Who is starting to warm up to her, after seeing her die O__O And she isn't afraid to argue with him

Oh I know, right? It's like everyone else kind of bends to the Doctor's will, even if they dont always follow his instruction, and she just kinda shrugs and brushes him off like she knows better (Cause she does XD) Im with you, I adore her after the season finale. Cant wait til December!

I know! It sounds amazing. Someone told me that in the DW magazine, Moffat said that while he was writing the special he was listening to Xmas songs really loud and laughing Manicly at his own creation, and that his neighbours moved out and started an online petition for his execution. He thinks that they meant it in a friendly joking way.
So it's going to be very christmasy and funny as hell!

Im neutral about her...on the one hand SHE IS AWSOME and I love this little old married couple thing she and Eleven have going on and how glam she is but ...I don't know...theres just something screaming at me that she shouldnt be there and not to like her. I believe you're right that she's gonna kill the Doctor... I mean, who else could she be talking about "the best man I know"? Who could possibly be a better man than the Doctor? But...
