If you want, you can see this drawing as a continuation of what happens after this: [link]Basically Tom and Tord butting heads while Matt is thinking whether he should intervene or just watch them. Matt's always that guy, huh?
I like to think that Tom and Tord have some sort of friendly rivalry going on, and not this full-blown malicious I-hurt-you-with-weapons-you-hurt-me-with-words relationship that some fans like to picture them as having.
Sure, they're not exactly best buddies in canon, but they're not bitter enemies lunging at each other's necks 100% of the time either. They're not lovey-dovey with each other either, haha. Hence, friendly rivals!
In my headcanon, they like to tease and bully each other a lot, although most of it is semi-affectionate.
Semi-affectionate.
They can seriously hurt each other at times, but things get better. They can also be cool with each other at times too.
Really, they're probably rivals because they don't have anybody else (worthy) to compete with.
Also, what the hell are they competing for, anyway? The position for who's worthy enough to be Edd's best bro? What, can't they just all share?

Or it could just be that they're both the voilent ones, always having weapons and wanting to beat up someone. idk, that mystery will never be solved.

I always thought that Tom and Tord fought because they're both close to Edd, and they have a ton of similarities to each other. Y'know, I don't really know myself since they don't really disagree with each other that much in canon - or in reality, for that matter. Yet, there are fans that blow their relationship out of proportion only because of a few interactions :s
It must be a bitter pill for them both to swallow to see their relationship warped and twisted by the fans.

It is quite sad, yes. But it's kind of nice to hear (rumours anyway) that Tord is still willing to work with Tom in upcoming Eddisode(s), in memory of Edd.
