So funny story! While searching for pictures of Patamon, a super old picture from 2004 I had completely forgotten about showed up! I then immediately knew what I had to do... I HAD TO IMPROVE UPON IT.
One of the best Digimon ever, I don't even caaaare.

I've seen Digimon Adventure so many times and I still love it. Kinda makes me wanna see a group pic with all the original Digimon. It's really quite insane (in a good way) how much you've improved since drawing that old picture.

Yeah they do! Patamon was definitely a boy and he turned into Angemon, whereas Gatomon was most definitely a girl. She was like the feminine counterpart to Patamon, turning into AngeWOMON.

Oh yeah, I know what they digivolved into, so it's obvious they were assigned genders - what I just meant was that I remember how digimon did not have parents (because it was something the D-Reaper could not understand in Series 3 - the fact how humans had parents), so in that sense the genders among digimon would be more or less assigned for character of that particular monster, I would guess, rather than any reproductive purpose (I was also younger when I saw Series 3, and even young when I saw Series 1 and 2).
I always wondered though if Angemon could digivolve into MagnaAngemon, if there was a higher form for Angewomon.. although I may not remember that part..

Oh wow, I never really watched very much of Series 3. I liked only a small handful of characters and I wasn't as into it as much as I was Series 1 & 2, so I didn't know that! And I was always curious if Angewoman had a further stage too, though if I remember correctly, Gatomon was actually her Champion form and she was just strong enough to always stay in it, which would mean that Angewoman was her Ultimate form... so yeah, I'm just as confused as you are!

Ah yes, well at first I didn't think as much about Series 3 compared to 1 & 2, so I never saw much of it, but I saw enough to enjoy it, and even grow a fondness for it.
That said, there were usually episodes of Digimon I missed regardless, sad to say... usually because my brothers would want to watch something on the other channel or something. But yeah, it was said in Series 3 how digimon don't have parents, which is why the D-Reaper ran into somewhat of an error trying to understand what one of the kid's father was to her - it just did not understand.
Really? Well... Gatomon did work for the enemy, so it would make sense she would be at a much stronger form, although... appearance-wise she appeared rookie-form, much on par with say, Patamon.
(On a sort of unrelated note, I once had a dream Gatomon was riding Patamon like a steed, and she was wearing knight's armour and carrying a lance, flying up into the sky... yeah... xD)
Well... maybe she never reached her Ultimate form... maybe it was never necessary, or maybe she never had one... who knows?
I will say this - after Series 3 I didn't like Digimon anymore..
