Description
Early draft of my portfolio design. Was thinking of getting some helpful suggestions and critique, so don't hold back!
As many have pointed out, the ribbon design was inspired by:
iLife '07

There is a designer, a fairly prominent one, whose name is escaping me at the moment - that has this same style & size banner on his site.
I would advise taking this down - you will probably get more negative feedback from this than positive.

Always makes me giggle when people use Lorem Ipsum, but they use the description text rather then the actual filler text.

It looks pretty cool, but i dont like the button font and the logo font, also the thing on header, that spiral thing.
But when i check the things that are down, i like the style and design how you have done it.

Anyway, good design, however I don't like the typography in the dark half of the site. But I love the logo

I guess I would have to agree with the idea that it looks a little recycled. I would try spacing out the main navigation links and perhaps using something different than the twist of images. I felt it was hard to grasp the designs and imagery in the twist itself and it kind of left me wondering what some of them were. I would try increasing the font size of the "Hi, I'm a designer..." paragraph to make it a little more noticeable.
I think the bottom half works well with the imagery, color and typography you chose. I hope some of this helps. Overall I like the design and I am interested to see where you take it.

A tad too many elements that are not original. Like the banner reminds me too much of iLife.
The + signs I've seen them somewhere in an ad somewhere, can't quite remember. And do you have the rights to use Marvin?lol.
