THE SPIDER
You are in the forest, when you feel a sharp pain by your ankle: brief, leaving a sting like a brush by a nettle. You lift your foot and inspect it. There is a small spider there. It must have bitten you. Irritably, you brush it off and continue on your way. Within ten minutes your legs have started to wobble, and then quite suddenly, all your limbs go numb. You collapse into the undergrowth, entirely unable to move your legs. Don’t worry - the effects aren’t permanent! But you’d better howl or call out for some help. Or you could just lie in the bushes and wait, but you’re kind of a sitting duck for a hungry bear.
