Description
This was the second project that is due in my illustration class. I made the coloring very simple to go with the concept of a village of settelors. They being simple people themselves, i thought the piece would need some of that simplicity. If you have seen the movie, you all know Abigail is a total b****. So the idea of how the poster is layed out is "Continuity with a Twist" Abigail is sitting on the end of the line of girls who helped in the judgement of who was a witch and who wasnt. With an evil smirk on her face, you sort of gett the feeling of the play almost instantly. When you see her you know that she is up to no good. The text was definately the challenge on it. I wasnt sure how to take care of all that whitespace that was left. A few ideas came to mind but this one overuled them all. I used a non-serif type face (font) so i could get the T to look like a cross. And the Crucible was given a sort of old style look with a bit of evil. With that i slanted it to go with the line of girls, to lead you better to the bad bad Abigail. Now the empty space was mostly taken care of, though there was plenty of room left over. I thought that that space could be used for where it would be held at etc. Though i wasnt sure what else to add on since i dont know the actual actors or actresses so i left that open but put in "Presented at the Portland Armory." And..that's it.
