Description "If you want throw the hammer for your country,
you have to stay inside the circle all the time.
And if you want to make the team,
you don't need happiness or self-esteem.
You just need to keep your feet inside the line."
---------------------------------

A (much) younger Trunchbull practicing for the Olympics. I imagine she was actually pretty mentally stable while she was in the Olympics. Probably still pretty gruff and mean, but not murdering people or abusing children...
Once she got too old to really compete professionally (late 20's), everything sort of fell apart because she had completely based her life and self-worth around her physical strength.

My theory was that she hated children (especially the smaller ones) because she was barren as a mule due to excessive steroid abuse! The smaller children reminded her of the babies she'd never ever have!

Other reasons for the steroid abuse theory are:
1. Hair-trigger temper (AKA "Roid Rage")!
2. Excessive muscles/strength
3. Being ugly/more of a man than a woman.
4. Infertility.
TLDR: google up "Candice Armstrong" for some idea. That or the East German Women's Swim Team :/

It's the Trunch! Wow, this is great! I've never seen the musical version of Matilda (though I did a workshop-ensue thing with a drama group) but I know that it's really good.Β

Thanks! Yeah, the musical is wonderful. Dark and twisted and really funny, too.

I really want to see Matilda; it's criminal that I live so near London and I haven't! (same with Les Mis and We Will Rock You) The songs I learned were absolutely brilliant as well!

I saw it one on Broadway a little while back and am going to see it again on Thanksgiving since I live in NY now. It'd be cool to get to see the london production, though. I've only been to London once and saw the West End revival of Evita when I was there.

I very nearly saw Wicked in 2010 when I went to NYC, but the seats were too expensive. Instead we went to see La Cage Aux Folles which I managed to nod off during. Hey, I was a jet lagged eleven year old, I was allowed. I have a giant list of shows I really badly want to see in London, and Matilda is in the top three!

Good theory, good cartoon. Showing the side with the mole is a nice touch

Hmm, that could be a good theory.

Thanks! I mean, I'm sure it's more complicated than that, but that's my general idea.
