Description
The fifth of but a series of aliens requested by by yours truly!Onto the facts!
Name: Embear
Species: Testimonignium
Home World: Huohwanalia
Powers/abilities: Testimonigniums produce a kerosene-like saliva that they clean their fur with on a regular basis. When they rub their flintlock teeth together, they produce a spark that almost immediately engulfs their bodies in flames in a move that Ben dubbed the "Fire Jacket", due to the fact that Testimonigniums regularly set themselves on fire.
Embear can set specific parts of his body on fire and then expel this fire out in vicious, furious attacks. Like Heatblast, he can create fireballs and hurl them at opponents as well as channel fire through the ground to erect walls of flames to protect himself and allies and himself in combat.
Embear has enhanced speed and agility.
Testimonigniums are experts in hand-to-hand combat and combine their fiery attacks with a special fighting style to become formidable fighters.
Embear's tail is prehensile and is strong enough to hold his weight.
Embear has enhanced strength above that of a human.
Embear has enhanced durability as he was to shrug off getting thrown through a building with minimal discomfort.
Testimonigniums see the world in thermal vision, allowing to sense the heat signature of other living things when their other senses are rendered useless.
Testimonigniums are considerably fire-proof and have special filters in their nostrils that allow them to breath in smoke-filled environments.
Weaknesses: Embear must prematurely lick himself with the kerosene-like saliva that his species produces in order to create fire. Should he be unable to do this in time, he will be rendered significantly less useful than before.
If Testimonigniums are doused with water, fire extinguisher foam, or other flame retardant fluids they will be unable to ignite themselves.
Testimonigniums are poor swimmers.
Despite being resistant to flames, Embear is still vulnerable to molten magma.
Etymology: Embear is a portmanteau of the words "ember" and "bear", referencing both his powers and the common misconception that giant pandas and red pandas - the animal that embear is based upon - are related to or are bears.
Trivia: The species name comes from the Latin words "testimonignis", which translates to "fire bear".
The species' home world comes from the Chinese words "Huǒ huán", which translates to "ring of fire".
The placement of Embear's flames and overall appearance is reminiscent of Infernape from Pokemon.
The ability of self-ignition and the term "Fire Jacket" come from the How to train your Dragon, specifically the Monstrous Nightmare, which also has a habit of setting itself on fire.
Testimonigniums originate from the planet, Huohwanalia, whose surface is covered in expansive rainforests and bamboo groves criss-crossed by lava flows and erupting volcanoes. Forest fires are thus very common and most life on Huohwanalia, including the Testimonigniums, have evolved to deal with the constant threat. Despite the ever presence to the molten magma and the fact that they are not invulnerable to it, Testimonigniums regularly risk their lives by training and meditating over pools of lava in order to better themselves and their fighting styles; they reason that if one perishes to their world, they are not worthy to leave it in the first place.
Testimonigniums are usually rather placid and calm upon first meeting them, but they instantly become vicious warriors of fiery personality when they enter combat. It is said that they are the first to arrive and the last to leave a battle, regardless of whether or not the tide is in their favor, making them indispensable allies.

Yeah, that's partially why I dislike this one a little. It's a bit too much like Heatblast, but hey, there are only so many ways to make a fire-themed alien.

You aren't the first one to point out the somewhat obvious similarities between Embear and the Pokemon franchise, but for the love of Arceus, you are the first to make it this damn amusing XD

Not bad. But again, Pokemon resemblance. I think Wyatt made a big mistake using Koffing as Gutrot's base. Now everyone is using Pokemon as base for new aliens.

Maybe, maybe not, but this one was made to order by request of the creator. I just followed the instructions.

This is awesome, it's nice to see a new fire alien , did you get the saliva on fur idea from the Brachydios?, Is this alien linked in anyway to Pankwando with Pankwando being a Giant Panda and Embear being a Red Panda?. I also like the look of your Crocdustar sketch, its nice to see a Crocdustar that's not just a giant humanoid crocodile. Anyway I just wanted to know if you were ever going to create your own variations of Ventrilosquid, Snakepit, Sandbox, Shellhead and Decagon Vreedle?, it would be nice to see your own interpretation of those five aliens.

Actually, as I stated in the trivia, I got the flammable saliva idea from the Monstrous Nightmare in How to Train your Dragon. It's been confirmed that they covered themselves in a kerosene gel that they ignite before a fight so they appear as intimidating and frightening as they are; basically, they're the big show-stopper that's going to attract all the attention.
As for Pankwando and Embear, they are unrelated species just like real life Giant Pandas and Red Pandas. Even though they share similar names, being "Pandas", they are completely unrelated and are classified in their own unique groups. That being said, Giant Pandas are more closely related to bears and Red Pandas are actually more closely related to mustelids, such as skunks, weasels, and raccoons by extension.
Yes, I have been thinking about creating my own interpretations of semi-confirmed aliens (aliens that were mentioned by never physically seen, such as the previously named aliens you mentioned).

Considering that's another name for the red panda, the animal that Embear's based off of, you're not wrong!
