Description Not a tutorial or anything(I'm the last person that can do any kind of teaching tbh lol) I just thought I'd share my process through the YCHs I do!

Also DA pixel zoom is doodoo caca here. This is better for seeing

1. Pre-sketch! My sketches tend to get messy, so I like to lay out a pre draft first (in this case it's in the form of a YCH temp).

2. Draft sketch! sketching out important details + trying to fix any problems from the pre-sketch.

3.Refined sketch! I hesitate to call it "line" work because it's really just etch-a-scratch that I use to color things inside lol.

4. I've gotten into the habit last year drawing in greyscale. I don't lay out the true values of the character, just shading and whatnot. I didn't get a screenshot when I started this, but when I do this, I only use mid and dark tones because light tones come out weird to me ;o; So lighting, recently, comes after. After I put the midtones, I airbrush where the shadow goes, and then I work with a sharper brush to finish details. I try not to zoom in, because I don't focus on refining until after I've laid out colors.

4.Over the sketch lines and greyscale blob, I overlay the base colors. Any layer clipped above will also overlay

5. Finish coloring yay. I also do some shading on the color layer too because greyscale shading tends to look a bit dull. The shading colors were mostly applied on the golden bits, neck fluff, and mouth

6. I merge EEEVERYthiiiing! One layer time. I just paintover everything, alternating between an easy to blend brush and a hard pen.

7. More paintover stuff.

8. Additional details ect ect

9. Just some effects!
