Description This painting represents the forces that shaped my mother's life. The infant's cradle is suspended in the Tree of Life, which in turn rises out of the coils of the serpent, the Great Mother. The snake raises Her head to taste the light of the moon. Moon, serpent and tree nourish the infant -- they shelter her, raise her, and light her path. Yet it is the crow, my mother's soul-kin animal, which peers into the girl's eyes and rocks her cradle.

It's like a nightmare, but very well done and creative.

Thanks! My mother gets a lot of her inspiration from her dreams -- which often do walk a fine line between nightmares and not.
