I think what makes this one especially effective is the texture/coloring. Although you've got a solid empty expression there, and that's probably the heart of it. Silence is so much more potent than words. Nice work.

For me, silence is often juxtaposed to idleness, which is why I chose this texture to try and make it seem more statuesque.
I kinda have a small fetish for the Sepia color and it actually helped a bit on the highlighting, plus it makes it seem more vibrant.

Haha, definitely nothing wrong with that. Sepia is an absolutely majestic color. And it is the perfect color for your image..did you go right to sepia, or try some other colors first? I could imagine a murky sea green for this as well.

This deviation is really cool. It's very meaningful also but i cant really figure it all out right now, but its deffinatly great artwork, im gonna add it to my favs.

This was actually a school project where everyone in the media classes hands in a picture and we vote for the best picture once a week. This week the theme was 'Negative', so I made something that I felt suitable for the word.
But whatever, its the viewer who has to interpret the work.
