Description It's big, for the sake of being big!

...

I think I went a little overboard on the size..

And if you're wondering, I really didn't like the way number 2 was going, so I scrapped it and went to 3

-HOW THE FU... hmm... How the heck did you manage this?!?! -"copy+paste" x 100?!

However, if I had made this (or any of the four designs) I'd be spankin' proud - so, good job!!

Technically I only needed to copy/paste 4 times for each modification, I started on the pattern that makes up 1 Quarter of the picture, copied and mirrored/rotated it around then worked on the interconnections between them.

Ah well, it's eye/mind boggling to look at... not to mention the pure awesomeness!! -guess "nice work" sums it up, though there's probably much more I could say...

May I ask how you're doing these? They look really intimidating. D:

You mean, how do I plan them out? Or how do I draw them?

Both. I mean, I wouldn't even know how to start.

Well, I start with a simple design for the center and then just grow it out from there until I get the desired pattern.

I use Gimp's path tool to make the curves and straight lines. It also makes it easier to remove the unwanted overlap if you use different layers for lines that cross over eachother.

If you're doing it on paper you just need a ruler and a compass (And an Eraser ).

has a great two part tutorial on drawing Arabesque.
