I may go back to coloring after this current project. Really just depends on if I feel like it.

Yeah! but its Smooth, rather than the kind of gradient where you can see the changs happening...

I like it! Quite original design, and amazingly complex. It somehow evokes an old stained glass window. It's a pleasure to look at.
Not much of a constructive criticism, but I don't know anything about vectors, so I'll just admire the effect

come up with them, i read the tutorial just now but I can't find a working mac 10.6 snow leopard download
theres one on the website you linked but the download link for it is broken

Sometimes they just grow on their own, but it does help to make a few simple knots (like a trissel or rosette) and use those as a starter.
