The only time her true purpose actually showed was near the end of the game where she made the cure (not really) for the Zombie infection.

Just beat Dead Rising last night, too. That ending was kinda "WTF?!" for me. And I'm talking about the Overtime mode ending, not the first ending.

I'm not fond of Isabella, but I like drawing her...which is weird..for me.

I generally like her character concept, though I found it odd that apparently her and Carlito were expert chemists or something, or at least high-level students, but they didn't look or act like it. They just seemed too casual for professionals in their field...
Also her voice was a little off at times, her accent seemingly changing...

About the ending *SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T BEATEN IT*
After that military guy was defeated, I was expecting an escape from the city or something, but Isabella was still on top of the jeep scared, and Frank just shouting to the sky I was like "What the hell? They still get eaten anyway??" Then the epilogue card shows that he escaped and I was like "WHAT THE F**K??? How do you just explain something away like that in an epilogue card??!!" It was worse than Dragon Age Origins epilogues.
At least the credits for Overtime mode were cool, with those zombies marching in unison to the beat of "Justified"

Its never really touched upon in the game. Its implied through dialogue with Isabella and from Wikipedia as well as official sources. I think Capcom could have done more to expand that aspect of their characters, but ehh... whatever...
