Gimp has some intresting filters, I will have to maybee get a copy to have a look at. Plus you can do animations on it too, well my sister does them on that anyway.

Yeah there are alot of cool filters but most of them I'll probably never use. I'm really just experimenting right now. I tried the animation stuff but you have to keep up with a bunch of different layers and it hurts my head xD

I got to admit I love the effects of gradients. Dont forget on here looking under the resources you can find loads of cool stuff for gimp aswell to download and add to all the other crap it already has. As for the animations, well I already work on lots of layers so I can do that easilly enough.
