Description
...or shut you up.Time flies and it's way too easy to loose track, to forget about projects or ideas.
I've learned that lists and schedules help, even during leisure time and on vacation.
It's sad, but without force, there are just countless beginnings and no end.
Anyway, critique would be very welcome as always. I'm not too happy with a few things here
but I can't really put my finger on them.
Probably one day I can
Have a great day, everyone!

On one of my shelves, there's a notebook of ideas I used to keep. Some I've managed to do and are therefore crossed out,
but most I've just forgotten entirely...

Keep it, probably you won't get to do all the ideas noted there
(at least if you're anything like me^^) but sometimes there are
little gems hidden in old notes, so it's always a good idea to keep them at one place.
Only recently, i've moved from scrap paper to small pocket sized notebooks
and it creates way less mess. Only a bit of compulsion not to wast any space^^

beautiful image. Though looking at the white root-like objects, they seem to take up a different space from the character (he kind of looks like Mark Zuckerberg in an odd way but I digress), is that intentional?

first of all, thanks a lot!
Any Mark Zuckerberg likeness is not intentional^^
as for the space difference, do you mean they seem to be in
different spacial planes? the roots being much closer than the face?
If so that was not intentional,
but I'm not sure if I get what you're intending,
yet I'm very eager to get it...

My apologizes of the opaqueness of my earlier statement. What I was trying to say is the roots don't match the rest of the image. You have a dark background and figure, and these ultra white roots. As a result, they have the appearance of being separate from the rest of the image (kind of like it was laid down on top of the image rather than part of it). I think a simple change in saturation (make them a little grayer) should help.

Thanks that made it perfectly clear.
And I do agree that some incorporation of the separated elements would help,
at least some color reflections, or as you say value changes.
In some way the contrast was on purpose, but it wasn't meant to split the image,
I'll have something to work on there for sure^^
Again, thank you, I can't stress enough how enlightening such feedback is!

Your welcome. Happy to help, after all, art (great art in particular) is not made in a vacuum.

Nice. There's something about the composition that I especially like, but I'm not sure what it is. Also, white is a great contrast here for the other colours.

Thanks! Originally I wanted to leave the branches unshaded
and honestly I'm not sure what the right decision was/would have been.
It was quite surprising to myself that it worked the way I saw it in my head, colorwise^^

I think it's better that the branches are shaded They are contrasting with the background nicely enough.

a better crosshatch job wouldn't have hurt^^
but that's the only way to learn, isn't it?
Contrast is a strangly two sided contrast,
something which can be understood from the theoretical point of view quite easily
but the perception of enough or too much varies highly

Ah, well, here the contrast works at least for me

I don't think I'll ever create anything perfect, but that shouldn't hold back from trying^^
but thank you very much anyways
