I like very much your concept here, as if the dude has a forge in his head and forgery isn't an easy work. I love how you used contrasting colors: bright orange to represent inner fire and cold dull-ish blue-violet for representing the "surface". For me the choice of unnatural (for the skin, of course) bluish color represents the coldness of not showing the emotions to the people around us, always wearing a mask. Although it may be a real fire inside. Also I enjoy that you added orange color into the eyes too.

Only one issue I could mention, but I assume, you'll grow and learn more, - is some anatomy inaccuracy, which now could be said as "stylistic choice". These include but not limited to (I'm a not a pro artist, I might not see all the troubles): neck (sternocleidomastoid + trapezius), eyes don't feel round, nose, superciliary arches and forehead, unclear connection of jaw and neck.

PS Oh, I've just noticed, he has beard, but hasn't brows... O_o Why?

you pretty much hit that nail square on the head.
Special thanks for the technical critique, there's almost none
"stylistic choice" in those errors^^
Some of these points I can see very clearly or I've even known about them,
the jaw and neck area and the neck structure in particular,
also the roundness of the eyes. It's time to pull myself together and finally
learn the right anatomy (for the eyes it's more an recurring execution error).
Yet you would do me a huge favor if you could elaborate on the anatomical
inaccuracies with the nose

I do think I see where the superciliary arches and the forehead falls short,
apart from being extremely prominent the shapes are odd and too sagged
and they don't meet in a way they should^^

As for the brows, that was a last-minute decision, he was supposed to get some
bushy eyebrows, but I somehow liked him without.
Thin eyebrows happen, but none are definitely a stretch, so I get that it's weird^^

Anyways, thanks so much for your kind critique, it helps so much

Sorry for the long delay, I'm on my vacation and, sincerely I'm a bit lazy to explain issue about the nose, because it is a bit complicated and tricky. Also English is not my native language, so it would be hard for me to correctly get all the terms in right places without any confuse, but I'll try.

Oh, I was worried that I might hurt you with my critique. Although I really-really like your concept and could easily "forget" all your mistakes just for this great idea. But to my mind it is great that you want to progress as an artist and I'll try to help you all I can.

So. into the nose. I assume that your "line of horizon" in somewhere at his eyes. This means that tip of the nose, lips, chin are a bit UNDER the line of horizon (later I'll use "loh"), but his head is not tilted, so from this point of view you SHOULD SEE the base of the nose and the place, where the bottom of the nasal septum becomes that philtrum. Also take a note that the tip of the nose (in the "ideal" head) is a tiny bit higher than the base of the nose.
Take a look at these images:

Notice how the nasal septum goes down and even how nose wings are curved (they are higher than the nasal septum), how you are able to see the "inside" of nose.

In your drawing you've done kind of "8-curve" type of line from the tip of the nose to the wings, but, first of all, from such loh you wouldn't see like this (you should see even a tiny bit of the connection of the nasal septum becomes that philtrum, as it is at the fourth image, and I think it is pretty much similar angle to one in your drawing) and, secondly, because of the fact that nose wings are higher than the tip, if you decide that your LOH is above the head, you'll not see the nostrils, like in schema below.

It seems to me that you combined two different "view angles" while drawing this part of the face.

I hope, this'll help. If not, ask me, I'll try to find more examples for you.

Well, mine was even longer,
the last two weeks where very rushed, but
I did not want to rush this.

Yeah this helps a lot, I definitely messed up
the height of the base of the nose
and not just in this one, it was wrong in my

mental map of the human head.

The viewing angles probably got mixed up since
I tried to have "the observer" quite near the subject
which does exaggerate the perspective distortions,
but that's no reason for the nose to be that wrong.
I'll focus on getting this right in the next drawings (after the inktober is over,
there'll probably be nothing portrait-esque until then)
to hopefully fix my brain in this regard ^^
Also I'll try to slowly get used to the right anatomy on the neck
and the forehead,
or would you suggest any other part of the anatomy that needs improvement
even more urgently?
Everything does but I need priorities.

Oh and as for your english, I'm not a native speaker either
and I found it very clear and well articulated, just so you know.

But most importantly, thanks so much for helping me out
I owe you

I'm happy to hear that you're OK and that my comment helped you.

I should remind you, that I'm only a peer, so, on the one hand, I am afraid to hurt your learning by telling you unhealthy advice and don't see a much mistakes in your works. What is more, your skill in perspective is far more higher than mine and I'm amazed how you use it for exaggeration.

As for exaggerating perspective in portraiture, take a look at this work:

The author created a "look from below" by keeping all elements of the head in right position according to the horizon line. Your idea of making a horizon line at the level of his eyes is completely normal, you just need to be more careful about building the face. Making mistakes in perspective while drawing some "landscapes", buildings or even a human figure in motion is more forgettable, than making a head in such a distorted perspective.

To my mind, you have a lot work to do and things to study: neck, forehead, nose and don't forget about eyes. These won't come easily and fast, so I don't have anything to add.
Also, I'll be waiting for your next piece.

That's overall the big challenge of faces, they are hardwired into our brains,
so every small unnatural deviation is clearly visible.
It's even harder to keep a likeness with an actual human in the process.
I agree, I have so much to learn and the drawing you've sent
is indeed a great goal of perspectively exaggerating portraits.
and of anatomy as well.
Thanks again for all the feedback,
it will take some time for me to improve, but hopefully I will ^^

I think this one is one of my favourite works from you Tha placement of light reflexes, the colours work well, also the smoke and the head are drawn very nicely, just as they should - the face is strong and the structure is well presented and the smoke (magma? brain?) as a contrast seems appropriately flow-y.

Thanks a lot!
There are so many aspects I'm not happy with on this one,
like neck anatomy, reflectiveness of the protective suits,
the unnatural beard on the cheek (to clean and boring),
yet it's still probably one of my best ones so far,
so not too bad I guess, for where I am right now.
I'm just glad it's enjoyable
