Description
A Visual Guide to Internet Trolls is the result of a collaboration between Cuddlepug (words & concept) and the talented PixieArtz (images). It is designed as a compendium for identifying and cataloguing different types of internet troll. While depicted as actual trolls, these sorts of people are very real online, and internet users must be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to know the sort of person they're dealing with. Understanding when a troll is just trying to get a rise out of you, and when a troll means serious business, is a useful skill to have.Generally, most internet trolls will fit into the below eight categories of increasing strength and severity:

- The Shit-Posting Troll
- The Antagonistic Troll
- The Doppelgänger Troll
- The Chaotic Troll
- The Assassin Troll
- The Boss Troll

You want a longer comment? The image remind me of 2006 internet where casual Facebook users suddenly started to use meme language and only now discovered what "troll" mean. Which of course is badly used here, because internet troll comes from a fishing method and not a fantasy creature. So what i'm trying to say this is outdated, pointless (it doesn't even portray all kind of trolling) and you are offended only because you took part in creating it and would give no shit about my opinion if you just found this image. Maybe my comment was lazy but your stance is clearly petty as you get mad about someone not praising it. What's even the point other than being in a echochamber of positivity?

Their intent with said bigotry/racism likely falls into one of the eight categories, as would homophobic trolls, sexist trolls etc.

Honestly, I usually just divide trolls into two crucial categories: "Benign" trolls (which I guess would include most jesture and lovable trolls), and "Malicious" trolls (which would include most examples of everything else on here :-p).
I'm not sure if I strictly agree with the semantics here in terms of what I'd personally use if I did want to further divvy things up, but honestly the examples seem perfectly grounded in reality so kudos for helping explain how the various goofs and assholes on the internet work :-p.

I think that in part depends on one's definition of "troll", to me the term has always meant someone who's more focused on being provocative than sensical... that certainly DOES include a lot of mean people, but it can also include people that just want to use nonconventional methods to start meaningful conversations or cause laughter...
... You know, like an internet user that goes around making polls about vaginas and other absurd things while randomly licking people...
... Or someone that goes around calling people "benign trolls" and licking them back.

I definitely remember almost as soon as I met you thinking, "Yep, that's a textbook 'benign troll' right there..."
Then I noticed some of the nonsense I was posting and realized I was kind of the pot to your kettle XD.
(To be fair, my first impressions of you were also all almost exclusively based off of your polls from a long time ago, I've now seen SO much more of you, so my viewpoint on the matter, while possibly still leaning towards, "Yeah, Cuddles can be a bit of a lovable troll," has, at the very least, become more complex :-p.)
