I personally like these EQG films, but I can understand people disliking them, so I can overlook how low the scores are. However, I do have to question why this gets a higher score than Forgotten Friendship. FF was far better. It had drama and emotion, along with hilarious Twilight being Twilight. Spring Breakdown had... Dash being paranoid and using forced memes.

This review was terrible. Pretty much every criticism was unsubstantiated, and you actually complained that the characters don't get drunk and lose their virginity. You know not every seventeen-year-old does that during spring break, right?
Also, your claim about Fluttershy being out of character makes me wonder whether you've ever met a real-life shy person before. Shy people can be more at ease in formalised situations and when performing in groups, so her performing in a band makes perfect sense. It's like you're upset that her character isn't one-sided enough.
Bottom line, this kind of review is below you.

So here´s how this will go down. To begin with, I´ll respond directly to Cuddlepug, rebutting his review piece by piece from start to finish. In part two, I´ll lay out my own opinion on “Spring Breakdown“. Savvy? OK, let´s get started.
Pt.I.
Cuddlepug, I think your reviews – especially ones like this one – are intended to be semi-satirical. Still, judging by the comments beneath them, many people take them seriously, so I will too, at least for the purposes of this rebuttal. Your review will be quoted in quotation marks, followed by my counter-arguments.

It should've been about being shipwrecked on a magical island and trying to survive while Sunset, Sci-Twi and Rainbow Dash head into Equestria to find Princess Twilight while being ponies.
But nope...It was all about Rainbow being bored and ship shenanigans. Even their "adventure" in Equestria is nothing but them sitting around and telling stories.

It was a boring mess. Rainbow Dash was only "redeemed" by accident of actual magical thing randomly happening at the same time at the right moment. All jokes were flat or disgusting. The only good part were in Ponyville and it lasts like 4 minutes at best. 2/10

I definitely agree that Spring Breakdown was awful. It definitely wasn't what it was hyped up to be in the trailer. Practically all of it was blatant filler footage, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who found Ragamuffin's accent offensive. And after all this time, the Hair 7 (well, 3) go to Equestria and meet Princess Twilight, and they stay for about two minutes and talk about chocolate-covered marshmallows and old artefacts, then when they get back, it's all a huge disaster and everyone's about to die, and then ZAP! Magic staff blast, and yay! Everything's fixed in a second. Talk about rushed and pathetically executed. In fact, the whole thing was. The only thing I kind of liked was the song, although only the verse and bridge; the lyrics of the chorus sounded pretty forced.
To be fair, I liked most of the other movies and specials (except Friendship Games) but this one was definitely terrible.

I've never been a fan of the equestia girls series but it's nice to see them being more creative with the looks as each film and short comes out. Be it a good creative look or something where you ask why the fuck did you do that.
Like many I agree Rainbow Rocks is the best film to come out of this branch of the franchise. Yes it to has it flaws but the story, villains and songs are more memorable that the others that have appeared. I do like some of the other films and shorts songs, character designs and story concept. Mainly the designs and story concept from Equestria girls and Forgotten memories. Song wise it's a mash up over all that have come out really.
Now onto this one, it was boring.
I mainly wanted to watch this because instead of ponies becoming human it was the other way around. Despite the cringe, which was expected since they have never passed to the pony world before (exception of Sunset). The encounter was boring with Princess Twi'. Were is all the questions from Sci-twi about the pony world or about Princess Twi in general when they meet. At the end of Friendship games I know they accidentally meet at the school statue. To the best of my knowledge both Twi's aren't animated talking to each other nor are they shown to meet up like this again. I get RD being calm around Princess Twi because two films and few shorts to know each other and were she's from.
Sorry is this doesn't make sense. Really in short, spring breakdown is bad. E- kinda bad

Yeah, for once I agree with you about the special.
Had a few moments that made me laugh and smile, but otherwise, it was just annoying and nonsensical. Rainbow Dash was irritating and her stubborn and paranoid behavior ended up saving the day (that's a good message for kids). Also, the story was filled with tons of plotholes that just confused me. Why couldn't Twilight just levitate Rainbow Dash out of the mud? Why did a piece of Storm King's magic just happen to go to another dimension? And so on...
That being said, I did get a kick out of Rarity's love interest looking like a male version of Applejack. Even the writers ship them.

You'd think EQG would be aimed at a older audience than FIM, especially since it came out a few years later, but no, it seem like it for younger kid.

So there is another question that has yet to have been answered: if a human were to turn into a pony, how would the kind of pony and cutie mark get determined?

I do agree that Equestria Girl was made because, well. Hasbro wanted to sell toys and compete with this Monster High-stuff. Can't speak that much for this video, just peeked into it, more pony-human-transformato stuff. However, in general, a lot of the plots in Equestria Girls make a lot more sense when in comparsion FiM produced a lot of crap. Sunset Shimmer is a much more organic character who actually developed for everyone to see and also had to suffer due to her wrongdoing, unlike Starlight Glimmer for example.
When it comes to jokes, they are at least on par with FiM. You want cartoon humor, you get cartoon humor. Sadly, I never really got into it. Call it the old scar of being a fan from the original series pretty early on (Early, wasn't Equestria Girls proclaimed in 2012 for the first time?). But I never managed to watch all episodes and specials from EqG. Also, the character design of the EqG-humans always seemed a bit wooden to me.
The greatest joke, however, would be if they KEEP the Equestria Girls-brand AS WELL AS Generation 5 coming along, and with Equestria Girls keep Generation 4 going. THAT would be the devil's work indeed.

No arguments here. Tbh I just came for songs and there was none of that. But overall, the special was just Rainbow Dash annoyingly trying to prove that there's magic present. Nothing interesting really happened. Honestly Sunset was the best thing about the special but that didn't save it. I didn't mind Forgotten Friendship though. That was alright in my eyes. Nothing special, but alright.

I still stand by that Rainbow Rocks has been the only good thing to come from EqG; even though it's got problems to it. While I will give credit this special is better than Rollercoaster of Friendship, that's not saying much.
The dialogue and writing is terrible with some of it being cringeworthy. The story completely floats adrift and doesn't get started until the final 10 or so minutes of the special. The plot holes are big enough to drive that cruise ship through them. The jokes are very repetitive from Applejack getting sea sick to Pinkie trying to get that cake.
Rainbow Dash has to be the biggest sin of this episode. Although she is right, it doesn't excuse how obnoxious, annoying, and irritating she was being through this special. She basically puts everyone at risk just so she can play hero and nearly gets everyone killed as a result of her gross incompetence and stupidity. Part of me hoped that the ending would've had Rainbow working on a cruise ship as punishment for screwing things up. Speaking of which, why was Sunset blaming herself for Rainbow's own stupidity? It's not Sunset's fault this all happened in the first place.
The pony portion was tolerable, but it felt more like filler and just a place to put in lame jokes (i.e. the 20% cooler joke; that was dumb). Why there's a portal to Equestria in quicksand is beyond me. Why the need to sneak around when Sunset and the others could just walk into Twilight's castle and tell her what's going on. What was with the sneaking? Just have Sunset tell the others what's going on and she needs to speak to Twilight.
I'll give it a little credit too that it does somewhat deviate from the previous entries and avoids most of the repetitive plot points from the lame villain, to someone being corrupted by magic, and then an out of the blue redemption. Still, it doesn't excuse all the problems I had with it and how much of a chore it was to sit through. To me, this is just another sign the team doesn't care anymore about EqG and want to move on from it.
So my statement remains; either pull the plug on this series, or put it on hiatus and get some new creative minds in there to give it some much needed help.

Let's be honest. 99%, and I'm bein generous with that number, was rehashing season 2's Wedding. Except with Rainbow Dash instead of Twilight.
Only saving grace was the time in Equestria. Proving that the two worlds can send others across and the universe will be fine.

Thanks for confirming that there is absolutely no need for me to watch anything from the Equestria Girls franchise anymore and that I made a good decision when I decided to skip this series altogether. At least I can focus on what's important - MLP's last season.

I don't mind it really, some specials or ep's will drag on but it is the same case with FIM so it is nothing new.
I do personally hope it becomes it's own thing soon and not having to rely on doing crossover's with FIM either full on sometimes.
For a spin-off, i do enjoy it and it is mainly due to sunset shimmer as she can be a relatable character.
While this special we had made little to no sense, it was okay but again some will drag on and some will not.
But i do think in general that it is time for it to become its own thing and not heavily rely on FIM.
But since FIM is ending this year i am in hopes EQG again becomes it's own thing.

As of when it will end, i do not know.
It could go on a bit longer before gen 5 comes around as it would make little sense to have 2 gens run at the same time but again i have no idea beyond this nor can say to take my word for it.
