Description Just to explain it a little in case anyone needs it... at the end of Shining Force III Scenario 3, Gracia (the little boy holding the staff) can promote all of the characters from Scenarios 1 and 2 to their final class. When you promote characters they gain a few bonus stat points. A few people have commented on how Synbios (guy on the left) and Medion (guy to the left of Gracia) look somewhat buffer in their final promotions (not to mention have more flesh on show), so this is my explanation for why how this happened.

I threw in Grace for good measure to say the "a FEW???" line, so I had something a bit familiar to draw; I think this is the first time I've ever tried properly drawing Gracia and Medion, and it's been ages since I last drew Synbios.

The picture was drawn as a few friends of mine are fans of Synbios and Medion, and made a perfect excuse to have a go at drawing non-furry characters; it was originally going to be a quick sketch of Synbios and Medion's heads and torsos, but Synbios's expression just asked for his speech bubble and the resulting joke.

This picture was drawn with a 2B mechanical pencil, and was fully drawn over the course of this afternoon and evening.

I you win an internet from me.

You have to admit though, Synbios did look like he buffed up a bit. I mean, he looks kind of scrawny in his original outfit and even looks lean in his first promotion but once he hits the final one it's like, "Oh holy shit. Where'd those biceps come from?"

Not that I'm complaining mind you. XD

Oh, and Gracia looks adorable. I wanna pinch those little cheeks.

Part of Synbios's "lack of buff" in his earlier promotions is kind of down to his outfits, given he's pretty much fully covered in either armour or somewhat loose clothing, so it is hard to tell what's going on under there... though I agree that it's fair to say that some sort of workout must have happened. Maybe power-levelling has something to do with it.

And thanks for the Gracia praise - when I started him I was worried he was going to end up looking a bit too girlie, but I think he came out just right as the little boy he is. I can't help but feel reminded of Philippe from the Achewood comics ([link] ) whenever I look at him, though! XD

Very true. *looks at Synbios art* I can see some definition on the arms in his second outfit now that I look but his legs looks so lean by comparison, not that I doubt he isn't strong there. I mean, the kid does nothing but run, run, run.

*must try sketching some arts*
