Hey guys! Sorry no Whoof comic yet. I have the line-art for page 8 done, expect it out on Monday (with any luck)This is my college senior thesis. A taste of what is to come. I am a concept artist first, and a comic creator second. I will be creating and concepting my own world complete with characters, architecture, landscapes and other such drawings. In the second semester I will be doing a small graphic novella of a distant robot who explores the world I have created. I've been accumulating an awful lot of new fans lately, and I hope you guys join me as I embark on this original project as well.
I will still be making Whoof comics, don't worry about that.
This guy is my lone android. He awakens in the wreckage of a thousand year old ship and emerges to a planet unknown to him. I had a lot of fun aging him in the second rendition. XD
Photoshop CS5 I want to say... 15 hours? 16? A LONG TIME.

I really like the design, and i must say that the one to the right is top notch! Robots may be cool, but they are at least 20% cooler when they look old (or steampunk, or both!)

I could definitely see this being like... a huge animated series! where like... half of it takes place in the distant past, where the robot is still all clean and new and it tells the story of the final years of the intergalactic war before the galaxy is torn apart and the robot has to go into hiding! and the other half would be the Robot traveling through the post-apocalyptic wasteland, telling his story to other survivors and that live there!
...
or... maybe it's just a cool picture. either way, it's still awesome!

well now i aint the best one to rate other people's art since i aint really the biggest specialist myself xD
But i must say this one does indeed look nice

Great robot design especially the aged version. Also this graphic novella you talked about sounds very interesting. The faded, scratched up paint job and cloak is a nice touch to the aged version and works well with the whole theme of the robot exploring a world unknown and new to him.
I really like these robot discovery/exploration stories and look forward to the future of this.

Nicely done. I like the ageing but was thinking a little bit of rust here and there. Otherwise he looks more dirty then old.

Ooo. One last point. A little scum and dirt at the bottom of the eyes and glowing thing in the chest.

I am far from a good artist. However on models I have used orange kinda speckled on... not sure if I am saying that right. It looks rustish. At least it does on swords and armour. Varying shades starting dark and ending with just a little light orange.

I love the initial design, and the moss really adds a sense that he was left untouched for a very, very long time. Overall, great work ^_^

Well, sounds like you're about to be a very busy man (or pony). I had an idea similar to the one you're doing for your Thesis. Well, in the sense that there was a robot as the central character who was setting out to explore a fictional world. I was working on making it an animated (3d) internet series, but it never recieved the support it needed. I'd love to learn a bit more about your Thesis, and maybe share some of my ideas aswell. Compare notes, as it were. I'm a sucker for both robots and worldbuilding. Also, don't have a premium membership so I can't critique, but it looks fantastic to me.
