I had seen several adults while walking around a reserve, could not get a shot of any of them, then when i was on my way out i saw a adult female flitting around as if to get my attention and i then noticed a couple of youngsters on the ground, this one flew up in front of me, i had my camera around my neck, so was lucky enough to get the shot, all over in a few seconds.

Body is a bit dark and not as sharp as i would have liked, but hand held at 400mm and on the spur of the moment i guess i cant complain too much

Hmmm, I see your point sort of, but still wonderful! to me anything is better than what I do! my pics of birds always look like little specks, LOL, someday I wish to get a real camera with all the trimmings. I like to work from my own references but with birds, not so good at the moment

Oh, I LOVE watching first flights! Watching a little robbin fly out and bounce along the ground trying to fly was the highlight of my summer to far.

I love baby birds just out of the nest. They have their parents/flock watching over them from a distance but they don't always realize this... and they can get really confused. Ha, ha.
