Description ARKADIY

Arkadiy’s inner demon in its true form is an insidious creature that doesn’t have a cohesive shape. It’s barely humanoid and composed of inky black shadows. It has eyes, a mouth, and limbs when it needs them, and there are times when it seems vaguely canine. If you stare at it for too long, it almost starts to look like a skewed and somewhat deformed Midnight Lycanroc.

Ark’s demon is a creature of pursuit. It rarely directly antagonizes save for when it needs to deliver its ultimatum – it can split itself into multiple forms and surround a dreamer, calling to them and often pleading for their help. It’s prone to playing the part of an injured creature at the mercy of others trying to control, capture, or restrain it, and will beg the dreamer to come rescue it. Its modus operandi seems to consist of telling the dreamer it “didn’t mean any harm” and that it doesn’t want to hurt anyone anymore.

When the injured half of the creature manages to pull the dreamer within sight, it will split its forms and proceed to sneak up behind and restrain the dreamer in its true form. It then delivers an ultimatum as they struggle – surrender and allow the (false) captors to execute the injured party (often taking a more realistic form, such as a close friend, family member, or lover) or allow themselves to be killed by the creature holding them back. They’re either forced to bear witness to the image of their loved one being put down, or they themselves are killed in the dream – regardless of the action taken, they wake up immediately afterwards.

If Ark is present during this, the injured doppelganger will be at its most cohesive form – it will resemble Brian.

JAX

Jax’s demon is a combination of creatures and location. When encountered, it takes the form of a burning building that heavily resembles the remains of Jax’s Pokemon and Pokehuman shelter in Lumiose. The flames climb high, but oddly, put off no heat. There are distant cries for help that draw dreamers to investigate the ruins. Anyone who rushes into the burning building will be surprised when the flames suddenly extinguish, leaving behind nothing but collapsed walls and destroyed belongings.

If the dreamer lingers too long in the ruins, they’ll encounter shambling creatures that just barely resemble humans. They are almost zombie-like in the way they move, skin colorless and eyes pitch black. Those who are familiar with Jax and his “family” will easily recognize them as the soulless husks of some of the younger Pokehumans he has taken under his wing (Sully, Frankie, Ari, etc.) When Jax is present, they will surround him and demand to know why he failed to protect them. Otherwise, they will attack any dreamers present and will need to be put down.

EVANDER

Evander’s inner demon takes the vague form of a Pokemon trainer with a warm and inviting expression and demeanor. He doesn’t have a cohesive appearance and tends to change to match a human appearance that the dreamer finds comforting. When Evander is present, he does appear with more detail – he’s a man in his mid- to late-twenties with dark hair and blue eyes. Regardless of how it appears, the demon’s true power lies in its coercive abilities. When it speaks, it compels Pokehumans to come to it.

If they’re unable to resist, the dreamers are drawn towards the trainer under promise that they’ll be given attention, love, and comfort. “I’m finally here to take you home,” is the common phrase the trainer will use to bring them in. When the dreamer comes within arm’s reach of the trainer, they will morph into a demonic creature with massive sharp teeth and several eyes. They almost appear to be ablaze, flames licking along their body.

The creature then grabs the dreamer and attempts to devour them. While the demon is very weak in comparison to others, it tries to use the element of surprise to overpower anyone unlucky enough to be ensnared.

MARCO

Marco’s demon is straightforward – when it appears, the area goes dark to the point that the dreamers are almost standing in a black void. The only source of light is the monster: a massive creature made of lava. It changes form as it drags itself towards the dreamers, vaguely shaping its mass into a stampeding herd of Ponyta and Rapidash, a large Gyarados-like form, and a monster pulling itself along the ground with its claws, destroying everything in its wake.

Its modus operandi is to chase and consume anything in its path. It will eat through and destroy any barricade, but can be stopped by anything overwhelmingly cold enough to solidify it. After it’s been cooled, it can simply be destroyed. Otherwise, it can absorb most attacks and reform limbs if they’re amputated. When it has been defeated, the void with dissipate and all forms of light will return.
