Yes...almost like highlander..There can be ONLY one. Larfleeze went nuts when Lex Luthor got an Orange Ring...and teaching Kyle to wield avarice; he almost lost it. Add to that that; the 'Child' of Ophidian the Tempter must LOVE the attention the orange battery gets. I bet it LIKES beings fighting over it!

That's a disturbing thought. And just think, if we were rid of this disgusting part of the emotion spectrum, human progress would cease, because no one would WANT to improve.

I disagree. Other things can drive people. All of the other emotions in the emotional spectrum can in fact.

Sad, but true, the aggregate of these emotions is what makes us who and what we are, and avarice can be yoked to do good.
Now…if you want disturbing consider this:
The Orange Light infects its master with an insatiable hunger. Hal experienced this when he briefly held the Orange Battery. That hunger forces the Orange Lantern to consume food continually (I surmise that no weight is gained, indeed you are waiting away from the power in a fashion). Larfleeze eats continually and in huge portions, yet seems to gain no weight, ever. You also explore all kinds of foods, the Orange Light driving you to find a way to satisfy your unending hunger, no matter how putrid the food is (again, Larfleeze has exhibited this ) how weird, or how disgusting to others.
I surmise that Apple Bloom will seek to eat lots…but not just cupcakes and pie, ciders and strudels: no she would WANT to eat something that just about every pony in Equestria would be repelled by, and would horrify her family and friends cementing how corrupting the Orange Light really is:
She would seek to eat…MEAT.

Applejack stared at her little sister. The filly was eating something, happily munching on something and seemingly more interested in her snack then listening to anything her big sister had to say.
…and the smell of it, whatever it was…the odor tickled at the fear in her soul…but she didn’t know why.
“Apple Bloom..what’er ya..eating?”
Apple Bloom tore strands of something smooth and stringy off the center of whatever she was eating. She smacked and made disgusting popping sounds as she consumed whatever it was. She swallowed, and then looked with narrow eyes at what she was holding in her hoof. Apple Bloom made an ugly face and threw the object away towards her sister. The thing bounced and came to a rest at Applejacks for hooves. The Orange Lantern then tore another piece off of whatever it was and bit into it greedily, more strands tore off of it and her made a seen on her consumption of it, smiling with satisfaction while she made noisy munching sounds.
Applejack looked at what Apple Bloom had thrown away and saw what it was for the first time….
..it was a bone. It was the bone of an animal, picked so clean that not even vultures could have done better
“Mrm..” gulp” it’s chicken Applejack,!” she tore another piece off with her teeth “ MMM…all this time ah’ had no Idea they were this tasty…so tasty. Ah’ should have tried this years ago…MMMM!!

In reality...I see chicken and fish as what she would go after....I do not think even the Orange Light could make her or Spike eat sentient creatures. Larfleeze does not eat sentient creatures either(I believe Johns got this question at Comic Con and said no he did not eat sentient creatures, just capture them in the Battery).|
She might try to stage a heist of Sugar Cube Corner..no Bits taken, just all the baked goods. I do not think Apple Blooms avarice is about plain old money. Money doesn't mean that much to her from what I've seen.

Spike is one BIG target with physical might and the power of 3200 Lanterns.
And Applebloom is one tiny and fast target with the power of 3200 Lanterns.
Both their minds are addled by the Orange Light.
But Spike's reason and intellect is ALSO being impaired by his dragon instincts taking over.
AND BOTH WANT THE ORANGE LIGHT!

And I can see YL Twilight, Green Lanterns Applejack and Big Mac, and IL Rarity (and Diamond Tiara?) all getting into the middle of this and trying to stop them from killing each other. Leading to Spikezilla and Orangebloom turning on them in a situation reminiscent of police officers intervening in a family argument before they go back to fighting each other.
