I've seen second season of 'Rome' and the death of Mark Antony inpired me to draw this strip.And, if You don't understand the situation,- 4th of September 476 A.C. That means - the Fall of Rome. Well, I think, that Roman Empire fallen because wars with barbarian people, but- just partly. The second reason was fall, inside Empire. People change Caesars too often, fight with each other. That's why I drew suicide of Rome.
Trashy drama, I know, I know... But I have to learn, how to put emotions in my arts, cause they haven't any.
Gawd, I've got so much great ideas, but not enough time and talent. T_____T

This is an interesting, yet sad, take on Grandpa Rome's death. Also, I get what he was doing; falling on his sword.
In other words, suicide. Falling on one's sword to commit suicide was considered a very roman thing to do, sadly.

I totally believe in this idea! After all, Rome had a very long and painful fall, so if it said Germania was the one who killed him, I assumed it was a "favor" to give his friend/rival a honorable death.
"Invaders are coming, and I know I'm no longer strong enough to hold them back. I don't want my grandsons to see how pathetically weak I've become, so I want you to help me fall on my sword so I can still go with what's left of my pride..."
