finally finished my little refsheet for the romantic, handsome fellow, King Sombra.
I drew him with wings on the left because he ascends in my universe, and becomes an alicorn. his wings are semi-transparent and crystally. I can really only demonstrate it through a fullbody, which I might do later.
anyway, onto those headcanons
Sombra is incredibly romantic. he is very playful and flirtatious, which made Sunburst fall head over hooves for him when he was tasked with reforming him (Sombra was not expecting it to escalate as it did, but he sure as hell was not complaining ;D).
since he spent most of his adult life being pampered as a palace tyrant, he's a bit chonky. his banishment/imprisonment did not help with this at all. he was self-conscious about his weight for a while, but he's come to terms with it, and done some personal training to lower it, especially after he had his two children.
during his reformation, he would help Sunburst watch Flurry Heart quite often. despite how wary Cadence and Shining Armor were of him around their child (especially since their first encounter was definitely not ideal) the young princess grew very fond of 'Uncle Sombra', and came to greatly enjoy his company. the two of them bonded quite well.
the reason for his ascension I haven't figured out yet. I was considering a story where the Umbrum species came out of hiding from underground, and began to attack the empire. but Sombra protected them. I haven't taken all the kinks out of it.
on the bottom right, we see a former king unconcerned. he tries to keep himself out of drama, and does quite well. whenever something serious happens, he just shrugs and minds his own damn business, a skill that many don't have in large amounts.
the CMC gave him a cutie mark. it was gay as hell, and he loved it. he designated a simple heart as his cutie mark, and has it painted on during important events, including his wedding. he doesn't know why he does this. he just...does.
